Help?! Before I make a purchase of opk...

Just wanted to know a few things before I make my purchase... Iv seen some sticks on eBay that are cheap and are apparently what are supplied to the nhs? Just wondering how easy the cheap sticks are to use? Are they confusing and when should you start testing and what does a positive test for ov look like? Oh and what does the first pos mean? That I'm ovulating? Or the LH surge thing? As u can tell I'm sooooo uneducated in this department!
