Midwife appt yesteday I was urgently referred to triage as my boys hear rate was considered too high. Hospital monitored, it'd gone 'back to normal' and they were pleased with it and his activity. I wasn't told WHY it may have beem higher at midwife appt.

Has anybody had any experience, what does this mean going forward?

My understanding is that if baby is having a good wiggle, their heart rate goes up- the same as your heart rate goes up when you excercise. If it goes up in response to movement, that’s a good thing, but if it’s up all the time it can be a sin if infection and that’s why they want you to go and have a proper monitoring. Then they can work out if the baseline is high, or if it’s just high for a minute or two because baby is moving

Hi Hun , exactly the same thing happened to me. Went to routine midwife appointment but baby’s heart beat was 180-200bpm so they rushed me to hospital to be monitored , when I had got there it had calmed right down to 145 !

Apparently they put it down to dehydration, I hadn’t had any water in over 12 hours ? Strange ! X
