well here we go time to make life changes as of tonight no more fags
im on folic acid ready im on a healthy balanced diet and am cutting down on caffeine no more coke and decaf coffee only god help me im going to be like a demon
how insane can i be giving up coffee fags and junk food all at the same time think im going to need to be sedated for this lol xxx

good luck rach, i must say you being very brave going cold turkey like that. Sending you loads of babydust, i think you and wobbles have inspired me to cut down on my caffeine intake and alcohol intake also. lots of fresh fruit and veggies.

It makes it easier if we all do it together doesn't it!

rusks im not going cold turkey im gutless lol i have the 24 hour patches but cold turkey on everything else
lets all get healthy together and start praying for a bfp although im not officially ttc yet it wont hurt to be nice and healthy ready
and hopefully we will see the consultant soon and be joining the ttc after next af

I'm using the patches as well, I didn't use them when I got my HTP + but I am back to them now.

has anyone used these 24 hour patches??? ive had it on now since about midnight so 4 hours ive not wanted a ciggy but trouble is i cant sleep at all im not even tired i feel like its the middle of the day
im using the 24 hour ones as i find the mornings worse a ciggy is the first thing i think about when i open my eyes so i was hoping by putting patch on tonight i wouldnt crave so bad when i woke up but im wondering now was this such a good idea??? is the patch the reason why i cant sleep???

I don't know anything about the patches Rach, cause I went completely cold turkey, but I just wanted to say well done on all this!!!

I too stopped the fags and the booze, and also cut out junk food when we were ttc. I did all this in October last year, and got pregnant in December, so Good Luck!!! You are definitely going in the right direction!!!!

It might of been Rach only for the fact you didn't stick one on until midnight. My OH did that last month (put one on late) & felt it had gave him an unsettled sleep.

You need a fresh patch every morning & to leave that patch on through the night, works for me. Oh & the water proof thing *rubbish* I get up leave my patch from the previous day on until I'm showered/bathed then put a fresh one on.

done really well till 5 pm then fell off the wagon dont know why

cant believe i managed without a ciggy all day and then back to square 1 at 5pm still its got to be better to smoke 2-3 than 20
so fresh start 2moro am taking a patch to bed so as soon as i get up am going in shower and then slapping the patch on
heres hoping 2moro i will do it guess it dont help that o/h been here all day puffing like a chimney around me and he keeps forgetting im quitting and offering me one

No way - Don't you dare kick yourself. You've done a mile to even decide to give up & you've done 2 to even try.

When I first started I also couldn't stop the urge of a couple. I smoked 6 one day & compared to what I was smoking I'm proud of myself.

The patch you have on now what time have you had it on from?

I'd of fell on my face today too only my OH won't let me out to the shop!

My OH has given up with me - Would your man not consider doing this? There are so many pluses for him & you if he does (?)

He'd be supporting you.

It would be a healthier surrounding for your kiddies.

It would be healthier for you BOTH in general.

& of course it would be nicer for when you conceive again (passive smoking) ...

put patch on about midnight last night as i didnt want the awful craving in the morning and it kept me going till about 5pm then i bottled out ripped patch off now and am going to bed early and going to start fresh in the morning
o/h promised to try also. hes on nights this week and he put a patch on before he went to work and just phoned me about 10 mins ago moaning it wasnt working just phoned again to say its not working cos its fallen off in work somewhere lol he is not impressed he now faces a night shift with no patch no ciggys and hes tired and in a bad mood god help his work mates tonight.
hmmmm just a thought but i wonder if i only managed to stay off the cigs cos he was smoking here today it seems i fell off the wagon as he went to work xxxxxxxx

Ahhh a fresh one might of helped this AM. What ones are you using. We found Nicotinell naff & we are both using NiQuitinCQ clear. They seem spot on just get a bit naff when you get into the bath with one on.

I'm glad he's trying for you - Maybe when he's at work he should take a couple in & try beating the desire for one. I did that & it does sort of work.

My OH has cigars (well I hid them from him) - I'm so tempted even though I hate them

well new day new start woke up early this morning and slapped on a nice fresh patch am using the niquitincq patch hun the 21mg one its not clear though its like plaster colour did find it really good up until 5pm so am hoping its because i put it on the night before today i hope will be a better day xxx

Well I had a fall after 48 hours - I was trying to find the baby oil & went through our drawers & he'd bought 20 fags I had a go at him for it but they were there - NOT GOOD! I smoked 2 last night & 2 this AM & I've threw them in his desk - Not happy he did that at all we said NO buying so at weak times there wasn't any there anyway

If you have problems Rach try the clear ones - We used the plaster type ones which actually is the ones he had problem with that night sleeping & he was on step 2!
