Headaches

I've been up for the past half an hour after waking with this pounding head. I've been sick (lovely) and now can't sleep because it hurts so much :-(

That's so crap Rooster. I know how you feel. My headaches seem to come on really early then disappear leaving me half an hour to get a little more sleep before work which then inevitably makes the headaches worse because I'm tired! I have found getting up and having a large glass of water and a slice of toast really helps for me at the mo!

My mum is a long time sufferer of migraines, and unfortunately, like her I vomit with migraines so taking anything by mouth is useless because it comes back up again. At the moment I am only eating so that I actually have something to throw up.

Thankfully my migraine has eased off but I'm still in pain and got nausea. Not too sure if I'm ready for paracetamol yet :-(

That's not good. My friend suffers with migraines. She has to take medication every day to try and hold them off. When she was pregnant she had to hold off them and could be holed up in bed for weeks at a time :( I can only imagine what it's like suffering with migraines. I've only ever had 3 in my life so I'm really lucky! At least you're giving yourself something to bring up. Personally I think there's nothing worse than heaving and literally having nothing there to come up :(

Once again the headaches have returned. Every day so far this week I've been feeling really good and today I wake up and I've got a stonking headache

Yes, everyday i have a thread for it in tri 1 as I just hate them!

I'm getting really sick of this now. Dr's & midwife just end up telling me that unfortunatley headaches are very common in pregnancy sometimes right to the end. I'm taking at least two paracetamol tablets every day :( has anyone found any rememdies that have worked?

At nearly 30 weeks, I've been suffering for over 10 weeks and have had time off work, including today. Woke up at 4 feeling very sick and had a horrible head. I just find sleeping and keeping my eyes shut are the only things that help. If I take paracetamol I get acid reflux bad :(

Oh no that's awful :( I hope yours ease off soon too! The good thing for me is that paracetamol does work but I don't want to be taking painkillers every single day. It can't be good for me or baby :(

I was suffering with super headaches around 16weeks!! Had to go and see a consultant at the hosp and she put me on Aspirin 75mg one a day. Went for my follow up and they said if I still keep getting them I can take aspirin throughout the whole pregnancy. Must admit I've not taken it since about 21 weeks as I kept forgetting and its eased off now. I really hate the idea of taking any tablets whilst pregnant but am just going to stick with good old paracetamol. MW said you can take it every time you get a headache as I had initially said before I saw the consultant that I thought I was taking too much. Both MW and consultant said if you have a headache then take it :/ xx

It just seems like an awful lot to be taking if you're having to take it every day though. Not to mention it's getting stupidly expensive!
