Colby has got a cold and just looking for some advice, it's stressing me out :-( He is still feeding but he's been sneezing lots and has a snotty nose sometimes. Is there anything I can do or is it a case of just letting it run it's course? I hate that he's ill already (we had to visit family last week as my FIL was diagnosed with lung cancer, so must have picked it up while we were away?)

Not really sure what you can do with him being so young hun, I know you can't use calpol until 2months. Have you used saline? I use this one..

You can use it from birth and it always works for Matthew. He does a big sneeze and all the bogies come out lol.. a baby nose cleaner too can help.

Karvol is good too, I think it's for 3m+ though, not sure. I just put a couple of drops on a muslin and tie it to his crib!

Hope he's feeling better soon hun x

Oh and you can put the shower on and sit with him in the same room to let him breathe in the steam and it will make his nose run and hopefully get all the yuck out x

Thanks hun, I will have to get some of the saline solution. He's been doing better today, sleeping and feeding well, still got sneezes and runny nose but doesn't seem as bad though the day (everything seems worse in the middle of the night lol)

Will try the steam as well, thank you for the advice :)

Saline definitely works. We are using it at the minute. We also use Karvol and put it on a muslin and tie it to his cot. Not sure what age this is for though. xx

when my lo has a cold i take him in the bathroom with me when i have a hot shower. i wedge his matress a bit so he can breathe easier & ive got a karvol plug in which i think works wonders. i also put some vicks on a hanky and tie it to the end of his cot! lots of tlc does the trick too! hope ur lo feels better soon!!! oh and ive got something called snuffle baby or something like that lol and i rub it on his chest!

Wrap him warm, put a muslin in his pram with some euculuptus on n take him for a long walk, when u get in, in the bathroom, get loads of steam, Suck all the snot out and then raise the head on matress where he sleeps and try to get him to sleep x

Thanks for all the tips, Colby's doing much better :)
