Hi girls, to all of you who are around 5 weeks pregnant ... Do any of you know what your HCG levels are? I'm really worried as had my bloods done on Tuesday and they were only 546 then and I know that is pretty low. I've had two miscarriages so really worried this is going to be my third now. I was also feeling dizzy last week but now I feel nothing :-(

Chart of normal hCG levels
Non-pregnant women Under 5.0 mIU/ml 3 weeks since LMP5 - 50 mIU/ml 4 weeks since LMP5 - 426 mIU/ml 5 weeks since LMP18 - 7,340 mIU/ml 6 weeks since LMP1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml 7 - 8 weeks since LMP7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml 9 - 12 weeks since LMP25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml 13 - 16 weeks since LMP13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml 17 - 24 weeks since LMP4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml 25 - 40 weeks since LMP3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

So between 18 - 7340 - its not so much about your level now as some woman only have 18 at this time is about how it increases over the next 48-72 hours! Dont panic and dont read into statistics. Ive had two mc's, trying not to panic with this one xxxx

I haven't had blooded done yet, I'm 6 weeks? Have you had a bleed? What would make you think that? X

I also felt dizzy last week and have nothing now. Iv had brown spotting for 3.days so I'm a little worried too. I have an early scan Monday Xx

I think the OP has had her bloods done due to her previous miscarriages sophs85!!

Cassie - are you due to go back for more bloods to check the levels are rising as they should..

xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for the replies. Yes I had my bloods done due to my previous miscarriages and I also had a bleed the time my period was due. I presumed it was a chemical pregnancy when I got my period but after the bleeding stopped my tests continued to get darker. My doc rendered me for a scan but the Epu won't scan until levels are over 1000... Well just as I am in the middle of writing this I have been called in for an urgent scan today they've got my second results back and think it could be ectopic :-(

Aww Hun got everything crossed for you that it's a nice sticky bean and not ectopic x

For comparison mine were 197 at 14dpo, 435 at 16dpo and then 1215 at 18dpo, at 5 weeks mine were nearly 4000.

I'd had them checked due to 5 chemicals/early miscarriages.

Mine were on the higher side of normal though.

The main thing is that they double every 2 days.

Fx all works out ok :)

Xx

Lots of love. I know that feeling only too well. Big hug x

Thanks girls. It was an ectopic or is an ectopic should I say :-( gutted! Lara, Do you mind if I ask what fertility tests they can do? I was told I had to have three miscarriages for that and I've had two and now one ectopic. Not sure if that counts or if I have to have another before they will test me. I know there's something wrong with me. I can just feel it :-( .. Back in tomor for more blood work to see if hcg is still going up. If so its an injection that will stop me trying for a few months anyway x

So sorry hun. I would try and dans some tests in your shoes hun but in the meantime look after yourself x

Oh honey - my heart goes out to you. Its just rotten and I can picture myself sat there in floods of tears as some doctor tells me "Its either an early miscarriage or an ectopic" Devastating. However, at least you are getting pregnant, you are catching and I keep getting told that its a positive thing that you are able to catch in the first place. Now just getting that bean to stick. After 2 miscarriages and an ectopic, you could push your GP to refer you for tests. Please don't jump to thinking you are going to defintely struggle to keep that baby in your tummy though because there are lots of ladies on here who have had early mcs and are now having successful pregnancies. What you would expect in the first instance is some general fertility blood tests to be done. Your GP can start them off even before you get to a fertility doctor. You could have your day 1-3 bloods done where they check all your general female hormone levels (mine were done on day 1 of my cycle) then you would have day 21 bloods done which measures your progesterone (that one is to check you are ovulating which we would assume that generally you are as you are falling pg)Are your cycles regular or long? After I had those tests, at the clinic I went through the following.Polycystic ovary profile blood tests and a scan of my ovaries which confirmed I had PCOSThyroid function testLupus anticoagulant blood test - Miscarriages may be more prevalent in ladies with a lupus anticoagulant, so if this one came up positive then you normally get prescribed aspirin. Mine were negative but I was prescribed aspirin every other day anyone. (obviously never self medicate)Then I had an HSG where a dye was flushed through my uterus and tubes to make sure they weren't blocked. IT also gave a good more detailed look at the uterus lining then a normal ultrasound could give. And thats me so far, I think these tests are pretty standard once you get going with the fertility tests. For me the outcome was PCOS (which I already knew I had) and the prescription of metformin which is suggested because PCOS ladies have a higher rate of miscarriage potentially due to their fluctuating blood sugar and insulin levels. So I have everything crossed that if I get pg again that my next bean will have a better chance of sticking.Lots of love x x

Wow for some reason thats come out as one long paragraph, sorry about that, I had set it out in bullets but hope you can make sense of that x x

Thanks Lara, I appreciate you taking the time to write all that for me. It's good to hear they can do all those tests. I've been offered nothing so far by the hospital just been told its 'one of those things' and it's becoming really frustrating now. My gp says she will refer me to a specialist tho so that's one good thing atleast. I had one depo shot years ago and I am so sure that this has caused my problems. Ever since that injection I have had sooo many problems and just feel like my body is all over the place. I just need to know how to fix it.. I hate just sitting around hoping the next one will work I feel like I need to be doing something to fix the problem. Fingers crossed for you. Hopefully we will both have a sticky bean soon xx
