I've been convinced my bump (or should i say fat bulge in my case lol..)

Is a boy..

I just had a feeling, now i dont know if that feeling came form cheri22's prediction or my own mind..

But listened to bubs and his/her HB is 170 per min..

is it true about 140 or below for boy more is girl? or just another wifes tale? hehe..

xxx

Think it's just another old wives tale hun! Our LO has been under 140 and at other times well above, think it's more to do with what they're up to in there at the time you listen, whether they're sleeping or doing somersaults rather than whether they're male or female. Still fun to predict though!

Midwives seem to think its accurate.

However if you read on the internet it says that theres no corrolation between heart rate and gender and heart rate drops as your baby gets bigger anyway.

Having said that mines been consistently over or around 160 and i was convinced i was having a boy. Turns out she's a girl, and the midwife said hse has a typical girl heart rate.

i wouldnt use it as a reliable method and go out buying blue/pink cos of it, but it's worth noting.

Also if yours does have a "boy" heartrate, its going to sound like a "girl" one if he's been very active or got excited etc. Tally's raised to about 180 when she got excited and dropped back down to 150 when she'd calmed down.

I also got told that the smaller the LO (i.e. earlier on in the pregnancy) the faster the heartbeat is. It tends to slow down as your bubs grows.

I've never been told what out LO's heart rate actually is yet although the midwife said that she would have guessed boy so perhaps he has a typical boy rate :D

My MW said its in labour girls hb are always higher than boys. Its true that the younger the baby the faster the hb when i was 9wks 4days my bubbas hb was 180 and as it got older it slowed down now its always 150-160 and its a boy.

I don't have to count BPM my doppler has an LCD screen so i can see it. I also got a prediction from cheri and she was right

Charlotte I have to say, I have always thought pink for you! :D
I dont know why but I have always thought you were having a girl!

lea M..

thats really interesting, your the only one so far hehe..

I'm not bothered either way, but secretly for some reason i been wanting a Girl..

I dont mind atall if a boy, and will not be atall dissapointed :)

Cheri said Boy, and since the minute i've found out i was pregnant, i've refered to bubs as 'he' unless i conciously think and put he/she..

Only 3weeks 2days till i can find out hehe :) xx

My babies heartbeat is always between 150-160 and im having a boy. Nathans was always around the same too.

Oh and my Cheri prediction was right...July and boy :)

I counted my babies today (with the help of my OH) and it was in the 150's but i also read its faster at the start. Im still going for a boy in light of the ring and string test! LOL

i cant remember what round it was but my midwife knew i was having a boy from the heartbeat- its either that girls have a faster heartbeat or boys do- but thats how midwives can tell apparently!
