Hi, I am new. I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I have been feeling ovement since around 20 weeks. He is normally resting during the day and I don't feel him move much, during the evening/night he perks up and I feel him pretty often. I haven't felt him at all today though and I'm starting to get concerned as it is now night time and I am still not feeling anything? My midwife is unreachable.

Welcome to PF! A lot of the girls on here have mentioned that their babies are quiet during growth spurts. I think it also depends how the baby is positioned... If he is kicking the placenta, you won't feel much. Have you tried drionking a old glass of orange juice or playing loud music? Apparently that can get them moving. It doesn't hurt to keep trying yiur midwife though. I hope your little one just needed a big rest!

See how it goes by tomorrow morning. Make sure you've eaten well. My LO wakes up after a good meal. Also try not to get too stressed it can distract you enough to not feel small movements.

I had this yesterday. A cold can of tango woke it up. I know how you feel about being concerned. It's scary but they have their growth spurt days. I was so worried yesterday. I'm pretty sure it won't be the first or last time either.xx

The thing is you won't feel regular regular movements until around 28 weeks as baby can still hide at the back as there is still loads of room to move but if your that worried I'm with the otjer girls or try your mw again xx

My obs and gynae magazine I picked up from women's outpatients said you should be looking for daily movements after 22 weeks.

My baby doesn't really kick during the day just at night but i dont really look out for it, somedays it doesn't kick some days it does... try not to worry yourself too much or get a doppler if your still worried x

I have just read yours after I have just more or less put up a post for the same thing as my baby has gone quite now for the past week. Still kicks there but not as much and today not really felt anything.

I think its going through a growth spurt though as bottom of bump is hurting and it feels like im stretching to capacity.

I'm with the others though about ringing your Mid wife. If my baby has started having another party soon I'm going to be ringing but luckly I have my fortnightly check up on Wednesday

One of my friends (who had her baby 8 weeks ago) couldn't feel him until she reached 24 weeks, and actually the lady who's pregnant now at my work said she didn't feel proper movement until 23/24 weeks, and it's her 2nd!!

I'm just about 26 weeks now and am now feeling him every day, but that's only been in the last 3 weeks or so - before that it was sporadic. I do think 22 weeks is too early - perhaps it meant that's when you should have had your 1st movements by?

Hi. I've been having this too but the movements I was having started decreasing last Monday (so 11 days now). He is nowhere near as active as he was a couple of weeks ago when I'd feel him about a dozen times a day. It's only today that I have really started to feel proper movement again. I did feel him over the last 11 days but possibly only once a day and it was only a little bit like bubbles again (like the first feelings of movements you get). I've read that it is common at this stage as the baby still has room to change position and s/he might be going through a growth spurt.

It is woreying and the only thing stopping me calling my midwife was the fact I had an appointment with her last Wednesday and I heard his heartbeat and it was good and strong. If it wasn't fr that, I would've rang her before now.

But just so you know, a ot of people go through this so you are not alone.

Hope your LO gives you a good big kick soon

xx
