Seen that video doing the circuit on the good old daily paper that is facebook of a little boy having his cochlear implant activated for the first time?

Just wondered what everyones thoughts where on the video/matter as the comments on facebook became very aggresive and almost like a witch hunt for mother :eh:

I've seen it and his smile when he hears mummy's voice is just beautiful x

I've never read the comments though.

It's such a gorgeous moment and until today I hadn't read them either =/

I had to learn BSL when I was a TA and always used it with my key children when I was a nursery nurse because it was a ni ay to introduce language to them without frustration (I'd say the words while signing and encourage them to do the same back as best they could. They all still learnt correct pronouciation(sp?) and what not but we'd no temper tantrums because they couldn't express themselves fully iykwim...) but obvs (in my opinion anyway)theres nothing like HEARING a voice you know and love saying 'i love you'

My experiences with people in the deaf community have always been very positive though (parents going the extra mile to help me understand their children etc) so I was really shocked at the reaction of people saying they were the voice of the deaf community =/

i duno maybe I'm just feeling a little sensitive =/
