Hairy tummy!

I noticed a couple of weeks ago that I have grown lots of downy white hair on my belly. Its not obvious, but definately much more than before!

Today I read in Pregnancy & Birth mag that hairyness in pregnancy can be caused by hormones specifically produced by boy babies and so I wonder...

Am I having a boy?

So I thought I'd ask, especially those of you who already know the sex of your baby, if you have noticed anything similar?

I read the same magazine and I wondered that too!!

However my friend got a really hairy belly when she was pregnant and she had a girl so Im not sure

Im expecting a boy and I havent noticed any extra hair growth!

ive got a hairy belly too, not too hairy but noticable, i was thinking of shaving it off, i hate it there i keep thinking maybe im not pg im just turning into a man

Yes, I have a hairy belly and I'm having a boy!
It's not like thick hair, it's more of a very fine down but it's definitely there and wasn't before!

well my tummy has got hairy also and having a boy..mine is fine but quite dark...I have dark hair anyway, it looks very unattractive never heard it was anything to do with the sex of the baby will be intrested to see what others say.

Hi Sweetie, I am having a boy and I also have these white downy hairs on my tummy which have only appeared since about week 12+. I was a lot sicker in the early part of the second trimester and a friend and my mum (who is a doctor) said that this may be because the testoterone hormone is kicking in. At the time I didn't know the sex but it turned out they were both right and I think that is what explains the sudden ms as I didn't really have it in early pg. If you felt more sick around weeks 12-16 it might be that you are having a boy and the testosterone kicked in like it did with me.

Well i normally have a hairy tummy must be the Italian in me blame my parents hehe. i hate it!
I do notice my leg hairs growing back way faster then previous its bad enough i used to shave once a day cuz of how dark and fast it grew now i feel like i could do it twice a day Am hoping for a boy myself!

I haven't had any sickness/nausea at all so far Dinski (except for tummy bug).

But it does seem like there could be a connection here.

I have a hairy downy belly too, shall let you know within few weeks (hopefully!!) if its right-we are having a surprise but my gut feelings are its a boy.....

Eww poor you. Hopefully it goes after the birth. I didn't get that with my son, not that I remember.

It's not like you're all of a sudden the missing link - they are just tiny baby hairs that you didn't have before - nobody else would even notice them on you!

They do go soon after the birth - I didn't even notice when mine went, I just remember realising a few weeks later that my tummy seemed less hairy again.

I can't stand hair though on my body. I even shave my arms. lol

Exactly. They're not like thick hairs. They're actually quite sweet!
