Following on from my thread earlier, I had to give Joshua formula tonight. He was screaming and screaming. My nipples were hurting so much and he just wasn't getting anything. I will be seeing if my HV will come over tomoro to discuss. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. I didn't feel as bad as I thought though because he looked so happy once he'd downed the bottle. He was very hungry little boy.

Just want to say thank you everyone for your kind words and support. Right now I have just got to think of Joshua. He isn't getting the amount he needs,so it looks like its formula from now on.

With baby number two, I will be getting them to check for tongue tie. But on the positive side, I managed over 14 weeks of ebf and I do feel very proud of myself. I gave him the best start I could.

Don't feel bad, you've give your LO a great start. Maybe combi feeding would work - so don't feel totally disheartened. Xxx

Well done you. Wish I lasted 14 weeks only made it about and in the end I was combi feeding Then What I thought was comfort feeding but leo wasn't a Happy baby on the boob at all(so i was told by a 3 year old Lol) now is the happiest babies you can find (I was told that by my hv). Just remember every babies different and as long as your Happy baby Happy and vice versa xxx

You should feel proud of yourself! You have done amazingly well, bf a tongue-tied baby for that long!! And you're doing the right thing now, giving Joshua what he needs. Sometimes breast just isn't best - not when it means that you're starving your baby instead of giving him the nutrition he needs!
