And all is good
Bump measuring 33cm... Ive always been a bit ahead.
Asked her about babys position at this point. She told me its head down but its too early for it to stay in one position. She explained that guidelines say MW shouldnt volunteer that info til 36 weeks. Reason being as babies can still move freely til then and also if she mentioned it was breech at the moment, some women will panic.
She went thru feeding options and I said Im bottle feeding, cant breastfeed due to cysts that I have. She said they encourage demand feeding instead of a rigourous routine of every two hours for example.
Have to bring my own formula to the hosp, bottles etc. Said its a good idea to bring a bottle warmer.
Explained that u shoulnt pre prepare alot of bottles at home for during the day. Reason is that formula powder has a bacteria in it which can multiply if reheated and could make baby sick.
Also told me my hosp allow u to go 12 days overdue which would be Boxing day! But this could change by a day or so depending on staffing levels.
She also explained bout using a dummy. One of the cot death theories is baby forgets to breath. If sucking a dummy, baby remembers it needs to breath. If u start using a dummy, it is not recommended that u stop it until they are at least 1yr old. So. U shouldnt start with it and then change ur mind and stop using it.
I dont feel BH too much and she said I would be having quite a few but u dont necessarily feel them. All pg women get them. If u dont get them ur not pg! Lol. Just depends how in tune u are to them. She then measured my bump and told me I was having one, but I coudnt feel it!
Good appointment all round
