Had cuddles with a 6 week old

one of the girls I work with visited us today with her six week old wee man. he was so cute

She gave him to me to hold and I was like god, WTF am I supposed to do with him

It was only then that it occured to me - apart from today the last time I held a small baby was over 2 yeas ago

Everyone else in the office was laughing saying I may aswell get used to it

Hoping things start to come naturally with my own

I had a similar thing a few weeks ago with a 6 week old although I left her in her car seat! She was very happy just staring at everyone and I didn't want to disturb her! I haven't held a small baby in about 3/4 years and I'm starting to feel like I might be out of my depth when LO arrives but I'm hoping it comes naturally! x

I hope so. He seemed so delicate, but he weighs over 11lbs now, so god knows what I'll be like with a newborn, all fingers and thumbs!!

Don't worry, it all comes naturally hun and you'll be 'throwing' (not literally) your lo around all over the place in no time

I had a hug with a 1 week old baby today. He was totally lush and made me so want my own....NOW!

Don't worry, I'm the same. I was cuddling my friends 2 month old at weekend. He needed burping which I tried with some success. However after 10 mins I got bored and handed him back. Whoops! Can't do that with my own.

Thinking about it, the last time I held a newborn I got puked on! And she kept farting on me and then filled her nappy! Nice! All good practice tho x

Ahh - you will find that with your own, it will just feel right hun, I always wory with someone elses little baby, but mine , you can just hold them, there yours and -yummmmm

We've got someone at work who brings his 6 month old in about once a week so he gets thrown in my arms by his dad every time I see him lol. I can't believe how big they get! He's a fatty tho!

The first time I ever held a baby was a few weeks ago. He looked me up and down, assessed me, then started the most desperate crying I've ever heard. He had recently been fed and had clean nappies, so I KNOW it was because of me, LOL!

Maybe he was just having an off day? This wee boy had just started with smiles, soooo cute
