Had 20 week scan yesterday. On a high today!

Had my 20 week scan yesterday and it was one of the most memorable times of my life. Seeing baby’s heart beating away and it touching its toes with its feet was amazing! The most important thing is that everything appears to be developing very healthily. Was a bit concerned as the MW was measuring my under but the scan has confirmed that baby is bang on normal size. Have some great clear pics but not sure how to attach them. Baby looks absolutely perfect and we are over the moon.

I wasn’t expecting her to ask this but she asked if we wanted her to have a look to find out the gender! We had already decided we wanted a surprise but dint expect to be offered this as thought the hospital policy was against it. It was a bit tempting but im so pleased my husband brought me back down to earth when he said no as Im glad we didn’t ruin the surprise! Having said that I didn’t see any ‘bits’ down there so we now think even more so that it’s probably a girl!

I have an anterior high placenta but apparently this isn’t a problem as it just acts as a sponge above the baby and she said I might not feel it move as much. Having said that the movements I have been feeing are really weird. My whole insides shake and feel like they are knocking against my bladder!

That scan is lovely isn't it hun. So pleased you enjoyed it.

Just be careful and don't go buying pink just because you didn't see any boy bits. We went for a 4d scan at 30 weeks, and asked at the end if she could confirm that he was a boy, and she said she had already had a sneaky look and that it was! We hadn't seen anything and neither of us had taken our eyes off the screen! I have a DVD of it, and now when I watch it, I can see the moment she looked, but we missed it at the time!

I had my 20 week scan yesterday too, it's fantastic isn't it!! We didn't find out the sex either, but I was VERY tempted when she asked if we wanted her to look.

If you go to the technical help section of the forum there's a bit there that tells you about adding photos. We'd love to see!!
