I came off the pill 4 weeks ago, had the withdrawal bleed which lasted alot longer than the normal 7 day break, usually 4 days but it was 6. On Sunday I got AF which I was delighted with but only had a medium bleed for Sunday/Monday and today just a very slight brown.

Do you think you can have a 2 day period? just wondering if its anything to be concerned about.

there's no such thing as perfect or normal with periods especially when you've been on the pill -it can mess up your periods for a long time. I'd just wait for the next couple of cycles and see if they get longer / heavier. You've only just come off the pill so it's likely this was just heavy spotting rather than a full period. keep us posted how you get on

Yes I will do, maybe it was just random and my proper period might come soon.

I hope so. When I had a break from my depo the first time (i was on it due to heavy, painful periods) I got really random spotting for a few days like you, then I actually got a heavy period that lasted 11 days. That came about a fortnight or so later. The cycles regulated after that. There's always that initial confusion then things will go back to your own version of normal :D hope this helps!

Hi,

I came off the pill in October last year and my periods since have been lighter, shorter and more a browny colour. I havent had any spotting in between or anything. Also my cycles are fairly long, like 35-38 days.

It's actually put me off going on the pill again as I just want my body to do its natural thing now.

My first two cycles after the pill were both short- 23/25 days and they only lasted a day and a half x

Its been 6 years I've been on it this time and I think if we do have a baby he'll have to for the snip after as we're older now and won't want anymore. You're right though, can't be good all those chemicals messing with your natural flow.

Ah thats good to hear DeeDeeAbi! I just hope it was AF then I can start OPK testing this cycle x

Maybe just opk it anyway? Maybe start earlier, like day 7? I found temping was really good to help me understand my cycle xx

I agree with DeeDeeAbi - perhaps start earlier. It can become difficult, your start the contraceptive pill and once you're used to it you understand the way your body is working and you know what to expect each month. Then once you come off it, things start changing. I've only been off my pill for 2 weeks and I was on the mini pill called Micronor and I made greetings with my AF on 2nd April and I have a full on period just as I normally did when I was on the pill still. Granted I've only been off of it for 2 weeks, but everyone is different and you must remember that. No two people's body's are the same - all bodies are unique and they all handle things in different ways.

I'd really recommend buying opks to keep track on when you are ovulating and so you can understand your own body a little more. I wouldn't say you can't have a 2 day period as I've heard of some people that have them - bodies can play tricks on you so sometimes it's hard to know what exactly is going on. It is usually not norm to have a 2 day period though so perhaps it's just your body adapting to not being on the pill anymore!

Xx

My fertility doc said a 2 day Af is fine, as long as you are bleeding red. He also said a good sign of a healthy AF is if it starts and stops relatively quickly. Also you need to give your hormones time to adjust.
