Hi Girls  , so it's exactly 100 days since my last AF :wall: I have had an appointment at the gynae unit today. Doctor told me that ultrasound shows no cysts but blood test from last year suggests PCOS. Apparently I might have the syndrome of PCOS. They have taken some more blood and decided to give me some pills to regulare cycles and ovulation. Can't remember the name of the pill :wall: .. was told to collect it from my GP in 10 days time. The doctor told me: " why do you stress.. you are only 27 ?! " I nearly cried.. what an insensitive comment

Baby dust to all

hi petra,

let us know how you get on.
claire x

hi Claire, yes, it was a man. Couldn't believe he said that. Can't stop thinking of it..

hi,no i can understand that,i would feel the same,i do not think these dotors realise when they make these comments that it is your life they are making comments about and that their comments can affect you in a big way, they definatley don't get taught bed side manner at med school do they!?

Some doctors are so insensitive! Really makes me cross :x

I am glad you have some answers now though and hopefully the meds will help you

Take care
Love Polly xxx

thanks for your replies

Baby dust to both

Hi Petra,

It's so annoying to be told something like that: "you're only 27". Who's he to tell you how old you should be to want a baby or to be worried about not having a period? Gor. It's not like you're 18!?! The nerve. It pisses me off.

Anyway, at least something is happening. I am curious to know what the pill is as I am being put on one too next cycle to regulate (last cycle was 52 days). I live in Colombia and it's hard to get good information with my Spanish. Can you let me know once you have more information by PM? Thanks.

Hi Petra. Sorry your doc was so insensitive. You're 4 years younger than me if that makes you feel any better!!! I'm glad they are doing something about your long cycles.

Thanks everyone for your replies..

Sookie, I will defo let you know. I am going to my GP next week Thursday..

Some Drs don't deserve medical degrees! I think I would have told him not to be so judgmental! :x

Good luck hun

Hi Petra,
I'm glad you're getting stuff sorted out and hopefully these pills will regulate your ovulation and put you on the road to a healthy sticky BFP. I'm 6 years older than you and trying for my first if that helps - i always feel better if i know women older than me are trying to conceive. Still, your GP was insensitive especially as this is a emotionally charged time for you.
Wishing you tonnes of baby dust

Does anyone know if the pills shorten your cycles as well as make them regular? My cycles are between 38 and 43-ish at the moment.

Hiya  , thanks for the replies. I couldn't believe when he told me.. so shocked I couldn't even reply to him :wall:
Apparently those pills will make my period regular legth..( hope 28-29 days). I am on day 105 since my last AF, so frustrating. Going to get my prescription on Wednesday so will let you know the name of the pill.

Hi Petra,

Glad it went ok for you yesterday. The doctor said the pills definitely won't act as a contraceptive? They're probably the same thing I'll get...

BTW, my DH's sperm analysis was much improved. Up from 6 million to 40. So now we have a chance! (sorry, not sure if I told you already  )

Stay in touch

Hi Sookie, I am going to GP on Wednesday to collect the pill. I will ask all the questions there as I booked double appointment ( 20 minutes yey). Have lots of questions ready

Glad your DH's sperm analysis went well. Hope you get your BFP soon. Will defo stay in touch

 Have you started taking your pill yet? I have appointment to see the GP on Wednesday.. hope they have the blood results and pill prescription from gynea then. Can't wait to get them and get started
