Gym ball/birth ball

I've seen people mention these on this forum and got me thinking about getting one.

Are they worth getting and what are you actually supposed to do with them?

Also are gym balls and birth balls the same thing? Could I just buy a gym ball and use it as a birth ball?

Im going to get one then especially after reading on that thread that they can help with back and pelvic pain

It is really good. For my SPD, I lean over it and rock my hips. It seems to help relieve it for a little bit. Great while watching the soaps
