Have just done another CB, and there is a line there....
But quite possibly the faintest i've had yet... i know a line is a line, but this one graham can barely see......

Am getting more and more convinced that its not real!!

Are CB prone to evap lines? Can you explain to me the concept of evap lines?

Am really gonna be fighting to get a blood test done now, really need to know, am convinced its not real now!

Gonna BD tonight cos if its not real FF is saying i'm "probably fertile"

i know its late so not really gonna get many replies, needed to ask though!!!

Love and baby dust to all xoxoxoxox

What's an evaporation line?

Evaporation ("evap") lines result with the test's antibody strip just looks slightly different than the space around it. There is a line of antibodies (usually made from mouse cells) in the Control and Test section. The Control line binds with any liquid and turns pink (or blue, in tests using blue dye.) The Test/Result line turns pink only if pregnancy hormone is detected. If not, the moisture passes over this strip and does not turn pink. It may, however, become more visible when the light hits the moisture on the strip-- it may appear gray, colorless, like a "dent" in the test, or like a "ghost line." It may appear at any time-- as soon as the urine hits it, after a few minutes as the test absorbs the moisture, or after the 10-minute time limit. It may appear when the test is drying, or after it has dried. It may disappear as the test is drying, or after the test has dried, or not disappear at all.

The simple fact is that there is always "something there" that is slightly visible-- it's simply the antibodies on the test that would turn pink in the presence of hCG. When the test becomes wet, or as it dries, or after it dries, the antibody strip may become more visible. Therefore, all tests may have them. It is not a defect; it's just how tests are made.

A real positive is identified by its color (pink or blue, whatever the color of the test's dye is) and its appearance within 10 minutes of urinating on the stick. A line that appears after 10 minutes, regardless of color, must be considered an evap line and is caused by the test's chemicals changing. HPT's are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the "rapid" time limit of 10 minutes are invalid

Hoping all works out for you chick

I'm confused just really because I can't see what you can x

I took another test and the line is lighter. Does this mean anything?
Should it get darker? Not necessarily. In general, the positive line will be darker when a greater amount of hCG is present in the urine, but not always. Some tests contain more or less dye (meaning there is just more or less color to "stick" to your hCG.) Some tests are more or less sensitive-- even 2 tests in the same box can be different. Also, your urine may have more or less hCG in it depending on what you ate or drank, or how long it's been since you last peed. Food itself does not cause false results, but can affect how much urine you have and how dilute it is. Eating salty chips and drinking caffeine all day will result in more concentrated pee, whereas gorging on watermelon and ginger ale will result in lots of very dilute pee. But an HPT is not meant to tell you "how" pregnant you are. It only tells you if you are pregnant or not. As long as there is a line in the results window, you are pregnant.

Thanks Wobbles!
Really appreciated!!!
my head is soooo up my arse at the moment!!!
There was definately a blue line within the ten minutes, but was so so faint!!
Think graham's convinced himself that its not real, and in turn thats made me feel the same!!
Almost as if the lines are only there cos i want them to be!!

And will feel like i'm wasting the doctors time tomorrow if i get them to do a blood test and theres nothing there!! Thats how convinced i'm making it all up!!

Sorry to go on about this, i just really don't know where to turn!!

xox

Gosh @ time - Have you ever watched a really tacky weird film totally **** yet you sit there watching it

I know how you feel & what you mean about your OH, my OH is the same I think its mostly a barrier.

Will your GP will take your bloods for a HCG count?

Hayley I've been pretty much lost in here lately (TTC area) - Theres been so much going on just trying to remember when you last had AF? Or did you have a loss chick?

Catch up on what you have said moro morning, try & go sleep I see your still on poor thing

I've been to bed 3 times now.... just can't drift off!!!

I'm hoping that with my history they'll do bloods or something... i really just need to know.... i'm not really willing to just play it out... not this time round (last time i had a mc that was "an unconfirmed pregnancy" was when the doctor in A&E was soooo rude to me saying that "i wasn't pregnant now, so i probably never was")

If they won't do my bloods i have no idea what i'll do... probably go and sit in the EPU until someone will talk to me!!! lol!

LMP was 8th July.... but from my symptoms i feel that it could possibly have been implantation... it was a v light af, but i'm normally light, but it was lighter than normal. Last one before that was 4th June... so its really hard to work out.

Graham's admitted that he's put a bit of a barrier up, and i've told him in doing that he's made me doubt my own intuition. About 2 seconds after finishing talking about it he fell asleep... leaving me to lay wondering about everything.

Every wave of nausea makes me smile, but my head has this niggling little voice thats saying "you can't be pregnant yet, you're still fat" <----- thats the consultants voice, not mine, i'm happy in my skin!!

So now i'm sat on the computer at silly o'clock listening to iTunes (christina agruilera) and having a bit of a cry!!!!

Hi

oh hun i wish you the best of luck and dont cry everything will turn out.
take care
Katrina

Sorry you had a bad night hon  Remember that saying a line is a line  It doesn't sound like an evap to me. I hope your other tests arrive soon to cheer you up :D

Thanks girls!!!
Really sorry to have had a massive rant on here!!!
Wobbles, i know exactly what you mean about watching crap on tv!!
I do that quite often, some random film you've never heard of... i was watching one of them on film 4 last night!!

Am really feeling quite gross this morning, sent DH to the shop to get me some milk so that i can have cereal but the thought of eating it has knocked me sick.... Thats got to be a good sign right?!?

Am at the doctors at 10.15 so hopefully will be able to get some advice or something... i'm going insane here!!!

And am hoping that the postman brings my sensative tests too.... if not there will be trouble!!!!

xox

Oh Hayley

Men are just so blind! I have the same problem with my OH even the falling asleep 2 minutes later while your still sat there, head battered thinking its only you that cares! Its not the case honest they just have no idea what to say without making them look too 'emotional' - Hope you know what I mean (men don't do emotional lol)

Have you done a test today?

x

No cos my ultra sensative ones haven't got here yet!
So i've not peed this morning and i'm starting to get desperate

*opens front door, pokes head out to see where postman is*

And should really be getting ready for the doctors, what if they need me to pee too!!

Ooooooooooooooo postman!!!!

brb!

         *sitting in front of PC waiting for Hayley to pee, feeling very weirded out about that*

Hayley collect your water in a little glass or something & leave it in the bathroom woman

That's what I did this morning   Luckily my postie was here at 7.30 though :cheer:

Ok, on the cheapies.... 6bfn's....
Either CB hate me.... or the cheapies do!!!

Do i still go to the doctors??

:wall:

Definately still go to the docs, don't know what else to say. Am really sorry hon  Definately still ask for a blood test too!

good luck re-testing and good luck at the docs.. i tested 3 days before my AF was due and i got the fainest line which seemed to fade each day after... i didn't get a dark line till about 2 or 3 days after AF was missed and that was with sainsburys own... which i think are better than clearblue.

x

I'm a bit stuck Hayley because you haven't had a full month charting all I know is your temps should be above your coverline but you have no coverline :(
