I got a letter from the hospital, telling me that when I had my blood tests, my thyroxine test came back that Im taking insufficient amounts and need to see my GP! Now fine, but I had the bloody tests done 8 weeks ago!!!!!
How stupid?! I got all my other test results back weeks ago and should be having my thyroid tested again about now!? I have felt crap all this time and its down to my thyroid!??? Im so annoyed! I would have noticed if I hadnt been pregnant but the tiredness etc I put down to being pregnant! I could have been feeling good and lively! I just feel so annoyed and upset now! Whats the point ofdoing tests like that if they dont bother giving me the results for 8 weeks!?? I presumed that my levels were fine as they didnt say otherwise! (they dont normally tell me when my levels are ok, just when there not)

Sorry just needed a moan lol

hey the same happened to me!

at 12 weeks i have a blood test, i got the results a couple of days ago saying i have no immunity to rubella. Thought it was a bit random but cant believe it took them 7 weeks to get back to me on this. Its lucky it wasnt something really serious, i wouldnt have known!!

i didnt hear a word about my results till i went to see midwife yesterday and she checked them as i havnt been feeling well, she has taken more bloods as is convinced my thyroxine is far too low.

Do you usually have an under-active thyroid hun?

:wall: stupid hospital. Sometimes they can be so slow..

Oh my god that's terrible! GRRRR no wonder you're angry! x

Thanks ladies!!
I know! Apparently my doc said they were "very low indeed"
TBH Im feeling a little worried!? I should have asked the doc but forgot so now I will googles but will babs be ok!? If my thyroid is very low then hers will be too!? :( Im just praying that it will be problem to her at all!!

when i got my 11 week blood tests i was told i wouldnt get the results back till my 20 week appointment, i just dont see the point in having them if were not going to find out for two months!

seems this is pretty common aswell :wall:

Sounds about right.. thats why i am one of those annoying patients that rings up on every test to get the results and learn what the results mean. Cant trust docs to tell you.

Try not to google too much. it makes you feel worse!

Thats the thing though, I got all my other test results within a week or two of having them and Im not being funny but if I had say an STD would that make much difference as long as i got rid before the babies born whereas my thyroid, its important to know if levels are low asap! Like say even when Im not pregnant and I have a blood test, if the levels are low, the docs phone me even before I have chance to call them! Im so annoyed with this hospital for this and I will ask the midwife when I next see her and make sure things will be ok! I did start to google but decided not too! I tried looking on the nhs and it said nothing so Im not looking more into it or I will read horror stories!
Im going to make a app. to re-do my bloods in two weeks with my doc and I will see if things are back to normal then! Stupid hospital aint taking any more! Whats the bloody point! :x
