Hi ladies

So since my early miscarrisgrvin February my periods haven't gone back to normal.

I had my 1st period after my miscarriage in March. Didn't have a period in April or may. Had my second period at the beginning of June.

So I booked a doctor's appointment for Monday. Basically my GP didn't care at all. Said I needed to lose weight (which I knew she'd say) and that there was nothing she could do until I lost weighed. When I explained I had been trying all I got was 'do more dxercise' she honestly could not care. Has anyone else experience this response from a GP? I totally understand about the losing weight but it's the whole no compassion she couldn't even look at me! As you can imagine I was getting upset as it is a hard subject to talk about and she didn't have any compassion at all. It's a new GP who I've never been too and if I honest I won't be seeing her again.

I’m sorry to hear the response you got. I find GPs are a bit of a lucky dip, sometimes they’re helpful other times not.

After my miscarriage in 2017 I remember being concerned as my periods following were really heavy and the first couple I had been passing clots that reminded me of what I was passing when I was miscarrying. I contacted my doctor who didn’t really seem to care about my concerns and just said my periods would be back to normal soon and I would get pregnant quickly after..

It took maybe around 3 or 4 cycles before I felt like my period was really normal again. So your body may still be sorting itself out.

I’d book another appointment with a different doctor and see what another says x

Agree with Millie it really does depend who you see. Yes they're under a lot of pressure but it's not excuse for treating people like crap!

I'd either leave it a few more cycles and see if things settle down or book in with someone else who will hopefully be a bit more helpful.

I'm sorry you got such a rubbish response.

Thanks for your replies ladies xxxx
I think I will give it a few more cycles and see how I get on.

I'm just so annoyed with how awful she was. She honestly did not care at all and did not want to help.

Some doctors are awful!. Really upsetting how they're meant to be there to help and they just haven't got a care in the world xx

It’s definitely a lucky dip with doctors, this is off the subject of ttc but I once had a doctor diagnose me with an eye infection and give me antibiotics without looking away from his computer to actually look at my eye, I kid you not, he did not look at me once during the appointment!

I’d give it another couple of months and if not back to normal get another appointment and ask to see a different doctor x

Sadly some health care 'professionals' will blame weight for everything and won't ever look past it. A good question to ask is 'if I were whatever weight you think I should be and still had these symptoms, what would your advice to me be then?' If they won't answer, then try another gp

Some GPs are amazing but some you have to wonder where they got their medical degree from. Many will not look past weight and will blame every medical problem on it. I’m sorry you got treated like that. It’s not fair.

I think some of us a more sensitive to the hormone changes with things like MC. It can take months and months to return to normal. I’d keep waiting x

Your GP sounds horrible. I would see a different one. The problem is after a miscarriage it's totally normal to put on weight. A GP that doesn't make eye contact when you are talking about a sensitive subject is a bad GP. Hormones do take a long time to rebalance after a mc too.

Thanks so much for your support ladies <3

We according to my CM I should have ovulated 21st; 22nd, 23rd well there the days I had EWCM.
So me and hubby have decided we will do a test this weekend. If still nothing I will wait until the end of this month. If still no signs of ovulation or pregnancy I have been looking into ovusense to help track when I am ovulating.

I honestly never imagined this would be so hard. When we first got pregnant it happened practically straight away. Xxx

Just to add, weight can be an issue. At one point I was 19 stone and not having proper periods at all. I lost 4 stone at first and they came back, and then another 5 stone. But a little weight probably won't be the issue. I'd eat as well as you can...lots of unprocessed, alkaline food, and avoid anything with estrogen in it to be on the safe side. Miscarriages really take it out of you and maybe it's your body's way of resting and recovering.
