Got the reaction I expected :(

Gran was on the phone this morning and she was saying that she was only upset because me expecting baby brings back to her memories of when my Mum was expecting me. Then she started telling me a story about a time when my Mum was expecting me and my Grans friends came to the door and she had to hide my Mum in the kitchen!! WTF?!

I didn't realise it was that bad just 19 years ago!

Awww hugs. She's probably just shocked but I'm sure she'll come round. My mum was a bit like that but a week later she'd started buying stuff for the baby and now she can't wait to be a nana. I'm sure your granny will come round hun. X

Yeah my mum was the same - got a really negative, flat reaction, saying am I going to be a single mum - even though I am 37 years old and was engaged to be married!! She did apologise a week later though and now is excitedly crotcheting me cardigans and blankets! Why are your family so disappointed in you hun? Are you very young or something or is it that you are unmarried? Families are funny, but in 9 out of 10 cases they do come round!! xxx

There's a woman who comes into my work that does crotcheting and the mits, hats, blankets etc that she has done are all sooooo cute bet the things your Mum has made are gorgeous!

It's just my Gran and one of my Aunts who are disappointed hun, it's because of my age and probably because I'm not married too. I'm 18 and Oh is 21. My aunt did everything the 'right way' Went to uni, got married, moved in together, then had her kids in her late 20's. So in my Grans eyes she's perfect and she wanted me to do things the same way. But at the end of the day, I'm happy and Oh is happy, we are stable money-wise and we will give baby all the love in the world and to me that's what matters xxx
