Anyone know anything we can take to relieve flu symptoms? I am feeling really rough and totally miserable. Have taken some paracetamol but that's it, and I am worried about taking that. X

Just got over it myself and you kinda just have to deal with it. I had soothers and throat sweets, brand called Ricola, they are natural herbs which are brilliant. I also just the migraine soothe strips to put on your head. Drink plenty of water and eat as normal as possible. Paracetamol is absolutly fine to take. Will help bring a temp down so dont worry about the paracetamol. xxxxx

Thanks hun. I will keep taking the paracetamol then. I will just have to give in and stay off work Monday I think. I will send my OH for throat sweets. X

I also found, if your having sickness, Olbas oil, for blocked nose did wonders for my sickness. couple of drops on tissue and sickness went, came back a bit but it took my stomach off of the sickness, with a different smell! xx

I had the flu in my last pregnancy, i was pretty much bed ridden!
Methol crystals in hot water done wonders for me. You can get them from the chemist. Just use a few crystals or you'll blow your head off

ive got it too :-s and a really important week at work so im walking round like a zombie with my eyes and nose dribbling everywhere its horrible! Ive avoided paracetamol but if its ok to take im off to have one now!! x

I didnt realise you could take them until my Dr said. I always though as soon as your pregnant, thats it, you cant take anything! But you can deff take paracetamol. I took some, threw them back up sometimes, but babys okay, as far as I know. Had no cramping, no bleeding, nothing :-) xxx

Thanks girls. I am now sniffing olbas oil thanks to Butterfly :-) wasn't sure if I could use it or not, but you're right it does help.

I am really worried about having time off in case someone at work works out I'm pregnant. I've already had an afternoon for MW appointment and a day for a migraine as I couldn't take my meds. It's really tricky as my work is full of gossips (Including me lol) xx

I've had a bad cold and sore throat the last few days, what I've found to work wonders if you have a blocked nose is those nasal strips you can buy - they're like a special plaster you put over the bridge of your nose before you go to sleep and they open up your airways enabling you to breathe. Last night I slept really well and you don't have to worry about any side effects for the baby as it's only a plaster, unlike nasal sprays/decongestions which you can't take. Hope you feel better soon! :flower:

Hi Everyone,
i'm having terrible catarrh - it's disgusting! Any tips for this?

I have a good one here - local old indian shopkeeper used to reccommend this to me - and since then I've spoken to some of my indian neurosurgeons at work about it - and they agreed that it works!!!

Cup of warm milk, and about 1/4 of a teaspoon of Tumeric :) It always worked when I was a kid :) You need to drink quite a lot of it, not just a cup a day, but more like 3 or 4, I'm sure it'll work for you - and it's all natural so it's safe :)

I had a couple of Indian meals, not too hot, but worked a treat! And those nose plasters were a godsend, they really do work. I am feeling loads better now, great advice from you all, hope you're all better soon. Xxx
