Glucose Tolerance Test

Well I phoned the doctors this afternoon for my results of the GTT, and it said on screen that I had to "make an appointment to discuss the results". So appointment is all booked for Monday after work.

Has this happened to any other ladies?

Hey hunni.
After my GTT i was called by my the midwife/hospital and they told me then and there about the results and it turned out i was a Gestational Diabetic. Just wanted to say hope al goes well on Monday at your appointment and good luck xxx

I have "impaired glucose tolerance" - if the glucose levels are above 7.8 and below 11 it's impaired (above that is diabetes) - I was something like 8.2 or 8.3. It basically means that I have to cut down on sugar intake and that baby's growth will be monitored more closely.

Although I do of course plan to cut down on sugar (damn that sweet tooth), I'm not too worried if I'm honest as I'm carrying all front and quite high, and I'm not that big.

Hey hun... Yeh i had to cut all the sugar out to and have extra scans but unfortunately on the scans it was showing that my baby was growing quite big and one of the main things they pointed out was that he had a large tummy which they look out for in GD. The good thing is though you will be closely monitored like you have said.. Good luck hun xx

I have my GTT tomorrow...baby's tummy is off the scale but with only 4 weeks to go i'm not sure there's much I can do except eat sensibly.
