I'm just finished feeding the baby, is it ok to have a small glass of wine? She won't feed again until gone 10.30?

What are the guidelines?

I've had a stressful week and could really do with one

Don't think the guidelines are as strict as during pregnancy.

I think they recommend that you express some milk for LO to drink later, and to express and discard some milk after you've had a drink (something like that).

However, I have never bothered with that - apparently only a small amount gets through to milk so I just have a v small portion. A few times I have had just a tiny glass (about half a small glass) of wine. I also top it up with lemonade so I feel like I'm having more - having said that I usually only get about half way through - just a little taste of wine does for me these days!

Enjoy!

My NCT breastfeeding lady said best time to do it was while you were feeding or just after

But she also said not to get hung up about it. Ie if during pregnancy you had the odd glass of wine doing during breastfeeding was no different xx

Have one love you deserve it after your week x I'll be having one with my tea shortly

I had a small glass of wine with my dinner, I do maybe once a fortnight, can't see it doing any harm at all.

I personally wouldn't as your baby has trouble with reflux it may make it worse.

Well I didn't bother in the end because I didn't get chance. :(

Nevermind. I have the rest of my life to drink alcohol I guess.

I buy the mini large glass size bottles of wine. I have half of one on a Friday night half on a Saturday night. He goes off at about 6.30-7ish I'll pour my glass and usually have a couple of sips then sometimes 40 mins later he has another feed and after that he goes down for 2-3 hours so I sit and relax with it then!

I had a small glass the other night after i had fed him, he then slept for about 2 hours after that, i say have one, relax and enjoy, you deserve it!

Our midwife told us that each unit only stays in your system for an hour so as long as you don't feed for an hour afterwards it wont be in your milk xx

Omg hun after the week you've had I would be absolutely plastered by now! One glass doesn't hurt xxxxxxx
