Im thinking about getting a pair of GHD hair straightners because most people seem to recommend them.

Im just wondering whats so great about them compared to other straightners around that also heat up to 230 degrees?

I want to know they're going to be better than others I could buy alot cheaper

I am not one to rave about things, but I absolutely love my GHD's... why I never bought them years ago I have no idea!

I have really thick hair which has a natural curl/frizz to it and the amount of straighteners that I had in the past and killed as I worked them so hard was unreal... it used to take me about 30-45min to straighten my hair with other brands... now it takes me about 15min and that is it super smooth and silky :)

Yep i have to agree with Sarah GHDs are fab :D

I have curly hair too and straightening with the GHDs takes no time at all where as with previous brands i ahve used it used to take me ages.

If you do get them get yourself some good pre straightener spray to protect your hair :D

i luuuuuuuurve my ghds, iv got the older style ones that REALLY burn but i use heat spray and it makes my hair luverly!!!

hands down winners, no contest

Thanks - I'll go for the GHD's then :)

My hair is pretty thick and frizzy aswell and I do manage to get it straight but it does take about 45mins.

Oh if it wasn't for my GHDs I'd have a ginger afro. Nothing compares, they are so worth the money. Don't do what I did with my first pair and drop them though

Thanks :)

Which ones would you recommend getting? The normal IV styler or the salon IV styler (bigger plates) My hair is quite thick but not too bad it's also quite long so im not sure which one to go for?

I have the bigger plate ones which are fab for thick long hair :D

Depends if you just want to use them as straighteners or not.... if you do styling with them too, like curl your hair get the usual salon ones

You can still curl with the bigger plates :D You get a dvd with the straightners and on it it shows you how with the big plates.

Thanks :)

I will only be using them to straighten my hair though. Won't be curling with them or anything

I have the pink ghd straightners which i use to curl my hair
the hairdresseser uses thesa to curl my hair so dh got me a pair they was meant to
one of my xmas presents but dh gave me them early as he had to show me them
cause he was not sure i wanted them or prefared the hairdresser to still do it for me
so i got a early gift lol and have used them a few times since he give me them
I use the tresemme heat protective spray but to be honest even after using this spray
it made my hair have lots of split ends like snapped it so guess there really really hot and
cause damage to your hair but there great for curls and flicks

i swear by remington 1s there 220 but there jst as gud as ghds ...and there ceramic plated.
there in argos 4 £17.99...but there in superdrug at the min 4 £12.99 im a hairdresser and there brill i wudnt use them otherwise get moaning clients hehe :rotfl: and even if there not 4 u there £13 compared 2 £100 4 ghds
ghds r gud but thy vcan ruin ur hair if u aint got heat protection and thy make my hair fly away xxx

I have tried alot of straighteners and GHD's are definitely the best, especially if you have very stubborn hair!

I wasted load's of money over the years on straightners that just wouldn't straighting my hair :wall: wish I'd got my GHD's years ago as they are fabby :cheer:

Hehe... i have these ones as well and the tresemme heat defence spray (though i never use the spray cos i cant be arsed basically) How do you curl with them? I have got a DVD somewhere but its packed in a box and ive never watched it!

GHDs are the best invention ever! I have been using mine for years and my hairdresser thinks my hair is in fab condition, just make sure you glide as opposed to holding on the hair and you can say bye bye frizz as your hair will be silky and glossy forever :D
