was wondering how you get your lo's to sleep. josh really struggles to drift off even if you can see hes absolutely knackered.... we rock him and soothe him and put him in his room so its quiet and calm but hell cry for hours and hours and hours before he'll drift off. phil and i spend all ourtime running up and down stairs trying to settle him....

xx

For naps in the day I give Drake what I call 'the booby hold' I turn him on his side and pop his dummy in his mouth so his face is snuggled into my boob..he loves it and nods off straight away! I'll put him down when he's out of it then.

At bedtime 9 times of 10 he falls asleep to his bottle but on the odd occasion he doesn't I'll take him up, pop him in his Moses basket swaddled up and wait for him to drop off..he's very good at bedtime fair play!

that sounds lush. iv tried the booby hold a few times lol, but again hell drift off fro a minute and then let out an almighty scream!! and then drift off....and so on and so forth, it doesn't sound like anythings wrong just hes tired and cant drop off...... bless the little man!! thanks though!! x

Charley naps in his swing during the day so that's easy.
I found night time hard to start off with, I was always up and down the stairs for at least 2 hours every night until he'd finally settle so I did controlled crying. It took longer than what I expected to work but it did and now charley goes down no fuss every night.
I know controlled crying isn't for everyone though cos people don't like to hear their babies crying.

Sounds like he gets a bit overtired. Drake used p get like that but I try and recognise the tiredness signs earlier. He's much better now!

Seb sometimes does this and it's when he's overtired! He fights and fights and fights sleep until he knackers himself out! I do the booby hold and also he likes his hand being held and his head being stroked. He doesn't do it often but when he does it's insane! Lol!

Tegan does this when she gets over tired and no matter what i do she won't give in until she can't keep her eyes open any longer! when she's not over tired i feed her wind her then pop her in her moses basket half asleep and stroke her cheek till she drifts off xxx

hmmm...i feel i may need to start being a little bit more aware of his sleeping patterns. it might have been wasier but whqat with his extra hosp visit and then a week and half of touring the country handinng him from person to person hes had no routine so trying to get back in to........ill try putting him down sooner thanks ladies!! z

I'd try and see if he's tired an hour after feeding. If not try him 15 mins later or so on. That's what do with drake. He can't stay awake for more than 2 hours! Even if he just has 20 mins it's enough to make him happy.

Ok ill try that tomorrow and see how it goes!! Ta x

Naptime is at 12 and he goes into his cradle awake just after a feed. He usually drops off after a suck on his dummy. This is the same at his 7pm feed.

11pm feed we dont wake him he takes it asleep.

3/4 am he falls asleep straight after his bottle with a cuddle and goes back to bed xx

(all on his tummy)

in the day herbie dosnt like getting cuddled to sleep he go's in his bouncer and you have to bounce him till he drops off takes about 5 mins and he MUST have a blanket across the side of his face and he holds onto it.
Night times he is swaddled and put in his basket awake there has not been one night he hasnt just fell asleep on his own after a few mins I swear he's my angle my other two would take ages.

H has to have a blanket over him so he can hold it during the day and has to have a soft one by his face overnight!it depends on him whether he will go to sleep on his own or not but he's been fighting sleep more and more!I've decided he's just really nosey!

we use leapfrog twinkle twinkle little scout its a small toy suitable from birth but it soothes alex to sleep with a little light and plays lullabies for 10 or 20 mins

so update: hes been going to sleep easier through the day. however i think hes just stubborn as well. he starts to go to sleep and then he opens his eyes its almost like he scared of missing out!! xx

i give noa 1 hour to fall asleep (he drift of, wakes up, drift of wakes up) then i turn him to his tummy n he be asleep in a minute x

Alfie likes the cuddle right on side into ur chest, however, ive noticed the last two days he has been awake for ages and is finding it reali hard to settle to sleep during the day and is getting reali grizzly when tired. xx

Yeah that's Js problem. At night he's out for the count but during the day he struggles xx its alnost like he's scared of missing out on something! X

Hi girls has anyone used Amby nest..I am thinkin of buying it..i hav read its reviews that babies sleep well in it..

Paige was and is exactly like this. Ive started to swaddle her again and its worked a treat! She will drift off now within about 5/10 minutes. I usually spend about 20 minutes...sometimes up to 45 minutes trying to get her to sleep. She even had a nap for 2 and a quater hours today

swaddling rocks.
