Getting married while pregnant?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this (if not, please move it) but has anyone on PF got married while pregnant or got any advice?

OH and I have been engaged for 4 years but the last year has been really hard on us. I'm 14 weeks pregnant and we planned on geting married at some point in the future. OH announced last night that he didn't want to wait until the baby is born and wants to get married before (due sept 28th)

We don't want a big wedding or a reception, just want to get married.

I'm not slim I'm a 20-22, I guess I was just wondering if anyone knew where to get a wedding dress that would be ok for my bump that isn't massively expensive?

I would love to hear other people's experiences.

Amandapanda got married whilst pregnant & put her pics on here. She looked beautiful! Don't think she had a massive do either. If it's what you want to do & feels right, then I would say go for it. I think it's lovely that your OH wants to get married rather than wait - very romantic.

A friend of mine got married last year when she was 6 months gone, she had this dress and is normally a size 22/24..........she looked absolutley stunning!!!

Ah congratulations! my friend brought her wedding forward and got married pregnant, she looked lovely, really happy and blooming, they also had a little intimate wedding that was personal to them. Another friend waited until baby was born, the wedding was planned before the pregnancy happened and the day was great but she had a whirlwind of breast feeding and flustering when baby was crying (she was only 8 weeks!) so getting ready was quite stressful for her, luckily her MIL had baby over night to give her and her hubby some private time together!
Not sure about dresses but my friend had hers from debanams, it was like an empire line so accomodated her bump really well. Another option would be to have a dress maker do you something, I designed mine and has someone make it and it probably worked out cheaper than going to a bridal shop!

Awww that's sweet of you Sunny B - thanks Yes I got married when I was about 5 months preg (I'm a size 20 usually) ....but it wasn't a big do & white dress, just a registry office and pretty cocktail style dress. Like your OH we wanted to be married before baby was born! I don't regret it at all. Good Luck xx

I got married at 5 months pregnant with my 2nd child, had a huge bump!!! Had a maternity wedding dress with train and everything, can't remember the website off the top of my head but they specialised in plus size and maternity wedding dresses (I was an 18), never had a fittind ot anything and it fitted like a dream. If you're wanting a proper wedding dress I'll try and find the website for you if you like. x

I'm really excited! Next weekend is not going to be fun! We are going to tell OH's parents I'm pregnant and we have decided to get married, it's not going to go down well.

Well I've found a wedding ring I like and my sister will be able to do my hair and make up, we can't afford a professional photographer but my dad has a professional camera and is quite good with it so hopefully he can take the photos!

Is it true if you get married on a friday it's cheaper? Thank you so much ladies!! xxx

Down by us, (swansea) If you get married its cheaper to doi it on a Mon, Tues.weds, thurs slightly more expensive on a Friday, triple on a saturday/sunday

Found it, it's bjornandme.com although they don't appear to have as much to buy on line as they did when I was looking. Mine was the pride and prejudice inspired dress which you could buy online, now they say it's appointment only. x

My wedding is booked for august at which point I will be 7 months. We've been together 10 years and I think it has worked out perfect for us.
We're having a nice small do and a relaxing uk honeymoon as I don't like going abroad.
My dress, hopefully will just be a maxi style dress as I'm not paying over the odds for a maternity one

I got married at 6 months pregnant in secret in Salisbury registry office, it was LOVELY we had haribo wedding rings because we didnt want to buy rings that wouldnt fit unless i was pregnant and we just had two witnesses and my dad

i bought the dress for 90 quid off ebay.

My friend gotn married at 7 months & she looked beautiful! She got her dress from ebay quite a plain maternity one then just took it to a local dressmaker for alterations & some gorgeous stones to be put on x

its all about YOU and what YOU want I didnt want loads of people looking at me and i was very uncomfortable in my dress all made up!

Of course its a proper wedding! you and your OH love each other and you are sharing that, if people doing want to receive it then they can sod off!
