Well, I'm back and it's good news. I think the baby likes the sound of the monitor because after about thirty minutes of heartbeat sounds I started to hear a lot of movement. After about ten minutes of those very loud noises I could feel movement, too! I felt more movement in that last half hour than I had in the past three days! I am so relieved. It's very reassuring to find that there is a lot more movement than I can actually feel. I think now is the time for me to buy a doppler!
I have been given a kick chart and told I shouldn't leave it next time and if I don't feel 10 episodes of movement in a 10-12 hour period I should call right away. I felt a bit embarrassed about having left it since Thursday, but luckily there was no harm done! They did say that a second episode would be of more concern than the first though, and DON'T LEAVE IT NEXT TIME. Ha... I felt foolish after she said that!

I posted the other day about not feeling the baby move all day and only getting some response after a lot of prodding. Well, this has happened all weekend. On Saturday I put it down to the fact I was walking all day long and I know that can sort of rock them to sleep but after not feeling anything but the occasional slight faint tap at the very bottom of my pelvis, I decided to call and I am going to be seen at 11. I realise at this stage there is less room and therefore less movement, but this happened overnight- from so much activity I could barely sleep to almost nothing. Also, my midwife said last week that I have such a long back that I will probably feel a lot of movement for a while because I have a lot of space for them to wiggle and turn. I was worried before but now I am very nervous because I have to wait an hour at work then go alone... I'm trying to be optimistic and thinking everything is fine and it's just a phase, but I am also very scared!
