Gestation diabetes blood test.

Evening all,

So tomorrow I have my diabetes blood test and I am slightly freaking out....

The blood test side of it doesn’t bother me it’s to 12 hours before no food or my anti sickness tablets and in a morning I have to eat else I’m being sick all day but then after the blood test they give you a glucose orange drink and orange is a big no no since being pregnant I drink it I’ll just throw up... then have to wait about for a second blood test..

I just think it’s a long time with no food especially for someone struggling with sickness and I’ve just got into a little routine where I’m starting to keep food down

Sorry if it seems daft but honestly ive done nothing but worry about this all week even worse today. *very Emotional... bloody hormones!! *

I’m worried about this too!

My sickness has passed luckily, but I do worry about going so long without food. I get faint if I don’t eat often (like, two hours is too long)! I don’t think there’s any way around it though

I’m 20 weeks and mine hasn’t been scheduled yet... I just want it over and done with

Why re they doing it at 15 weeks? It’s not normally done until much later in pregnancy? Are you very high risk for having diabetes? Can’t you just rearrange it? At least for a few weeks time? You might be feeling better then?

Yeah it’s high risk so I have one now and then one end of April. I think now I just want it over with. I’ve decided not to stress about it (will only make myself worse) and I keep thinking it’s whats needed and I’ll treat myself to a lovely unhealthy Mac Donald’s after to cheer myself up!! Regardless how I’m feeling.

Test all done what a long morning and very uncomfortable.
Sickness before leaving the house upset tummy at the hospital 2 lots of bloods and lots of waiting about then finally had something to eat now feel rotten.... time for some sleep I think.

Will get the results tomorrow. But it will be worth it to know me and baby are healthy! Just not a nice experience
