im at my wits end!!! =((( i dont know what to do! the last few weeks lo has become realllly fussy and its driving me mad and i actually dread meal times!!!! he is teething atm but doesnt seem too bothered by it. basically he used to have a realy good diet and would eat more or less anything i gave him. lunch and breakfast arent really the issue, its just dinner time. to clear it up a bit here is a lst of food sthat he wil happily eat:

breakfasts: weetabix and cows milk, readybreak and cows milk. toast with butter or eanut butter.

lunch: usually a sandwich with either tuna, cream cheese, ham, peanut butter followed by banana and yoghurt or custard pot.

snacks are usually bananas, rice cakes, breadsticks, oragnix snacks which he will eat no prob

thats it.

forgot to add, that he will eat a jar or them steamed minimeals more or less without fuss even though i am reluctant to give them to him especially now that he is 1!!

dinner time is a nightmare. ive tried everything i dont know what to do! he wither refuses to be spoonfed or if i let him finger feed he throws it al on the floor an has a massive hissy fit!! i dont want to force him and end up traumatising him but mealtimes are becoming a real fight =(((

i owuld be very grateful for any advice that any of you ladies have. please! im close to tears just writing this!!

Have you tried cutting up his food into tiny bits and feeding him with a fork? Charley refuses jars now (I don't blame him) so I cook whatever we're having but cut it into small bits and feed him it with a fork. He eats anything apart from pasta x.

We have the same problem Amy, it's driving me mad too. Not so much that he won't eat the right food, it's just getting it into him. He won't be spoon fed, can't quite use a spoon himself yet but likes to throw finger food rather than eat it. Think I'll try your tip too LM!

ive tried that but it didnt work....will try again! =( its getting me down! hope u have better luck inky!! fx!!!!

i would just ignore him and not paying him any attention. offer food but if he dont want it or chucks it on the floor i would leave him to get on with it, eitherway is just attention seeking or he dont want it. Eitherway, he wont starv, if hes really hungry he will eat whats offered. also i would stop giving him what he only likes, that would make it harder for you later.
Im very strict and hard on noa tho. i hope it will pay of later

What about one of those curly spoons for easy self feeding you can get a set at tesco, or maybee try online

I'm not getting anywhere with sarnie style lunches myself , all on the floor and then grumpy hungry baby all afternoon! I just fill him up with yoghurt after and snack pancake sometimes and then have a promt afternoon snack

Hope you have more luck when teathing eases

what are the curly spoons? dont think have seen them but i am so willing to try! tried again today cutting up the food and feeding with a fork but it got me really stressed and upset again as he completely refused to eat!!!! =(((

Have you tried switching meals around?

So what you'd give at lunch give at dinner and then for lunch do a meal?

UPDATE:

just thought i would give u ladies an update. i spoke to my hv, and she has put my name down for "cook & eat" sessions at my local childrens centre. they are for fussy eaters. basically we get to cook and play with food and they will give me loads of advice etc etc. its the best things shes bloody done for me!!! im actually quite excited and hopful. they start 2nd nov! he has been eating ok, especially those steamed meals from hipp, heinz and cow & gate but i feel like i shouldnt be giving him these foods, but he does happily polish them off tried him with some sunday roast yesterday & again it was all refused.

i will let you all know how i go on when the course starts. heres hoping the fussy eating is going to stop!!!
