Food.... In general

No way i cant believe people do this stuff my lo has had mcdonalds chicken nuggets once and only has butter on his toast now as for the woman with nutella does she not realise it does contain nuts and I thought honey was a no till 12 months too. I do give him treats but he is 15 month and only gets them after meals. My mil gives him biscuits for breakfast tho which drives me up the wall.

Nope honey shouldn't be given till 12 months old because it doesn't mix well with babys belly!

Younger babies react more to things do its common to give the foods that they can most often cause allergies a little later when their immune system is more mature and they can handle it better.
That Dosent mean that all Los will react badly I you give it earlier. It's a risk that you take or not.
Personally I will not but that's just me :)

This is what I've always been told too, and for that reason I will be extra careful about giving nuts of any kind, honey, strawberries and kiwi.

I tried phoebe with a bit of fish the other day and she loved it :) i've also given her chicken and scrambled eggs.

I'm going to make her some bolognaise this afternoon, does anyone know if its ok to put mushrooms in? I've not heard anyone mention anything about mushrooms!?

We gave DS local honey at 10 months as advised by our paediatrician to help his horrendous hay fever.

Obviously never add salt to baby's food.

Pinky LOCAL honey is fabulous for hey fever. Its what I do every year. BUT for it to work you need months, starting from winter with one spoon per day. It's like a slow immunization against the thins that cause you allergies.
Te bees feed from the local flowers trees that cause you the allergies, you ear the honey that they make where small amounts of what cause you problems is present but not in a big quantity to cause you a hey fever episode.
By the time it's spring/summer you don't react/ or react better anyway to flowers and trees.

What hope said :) its really really helped! It costs more but it's def worth it!

I mentioned it to him and he seemed interested. Finding local honey in London may be slightly more difficult tho!

You just have to see what trees and flowers are around in london and then find a region with similar vegetation. You can get local
Honey from there then.
We did that here as we couldn't find local honey producers so we got from 200 km away from a similar place and it worked. Anyway bees feed even km away from their home so just get outside of London and find a villager that sells that :) you have nth to loose anyway.
He has to remember to eat it regularly though.

Pinky there's loads of urban honey farmers. Google hackney honey, there was a tv program about it coz cities have such varied gardens/ flowers etc so the honey is meant to be fab x

Is it right to wait with toast until 6 months because of gluten or is that a guideline too? I've not given him any finger foods yet but am intrigued. I'm looking forward to toast because I always read how much everyone's lo loves it.

Brody has had an Ella's sachet with strawberries I'm pretty sure and it was 4months plus.

I'm just trying to avoid citrus fruits, I was tempted to mash up a kiwi the other day and googled it and they said it was a no no. I also won't give certain foods as finger foods, things with pips mainly.

Other than that Lewis has had most of the stuff we have but mashed up and salt free but I do cook from scratch.

I tried a bit of bread first and then went from there. I went to give her an orange the other day and then decided against it. I've also stayed away from green peppers

I don't eat peppers so haven't a clue but my mum and brother said they can repeat on you? I'd rather she didnt have a horrible bum lol

Like sweet peppers?

I've eaten them for years never had that? gave Tyler red pepper on Tuesday had no ill effects yet I'll keep u posted on that one.

I havent a clue as I hate peppers and they make me gip just cutting them. Shes been fine with red pepper though so god knows.

Olive, they do say absolutely no gluten until 6 months old.
