Food.... In general

I've seen pictures of one of OHs friends giving their 8 month old KFC. What the actual f***?! Absolute madness.

I've given cam strawberry and egg and he's been absolutely fine with both. I have to be careful as he's got a dairy allergy but he's not reacted to anything else x

We have family history of allergies so waited couple of days after certain foods. He does have reaction to strawberries and dairy but not egg or fish

I have given Jax strawberries, pork, fish and cheese. Not given eggs yet but would, no problem, just no gotten round to it yet.

There is no history allergies in our family

Is pork a worry food?

I think you've just got to make sure that pork is really well cooked, same as chicken?

Ethan has had eggy bread hun and it was fine, scrambled egg too. The only thing has been strawberry and tomato puree which gave him a mild rash on his face for about 5 mins. xx

I've seen ppl on FB give their LO's at only 5/6 months old - chocolate buttons, ice lollys, toast & jam. It makes me feel a bit sick tbh. Poor LO's.

xxxxx

I tried phoebe with a bit of fish the other day and she loved it :) i've also given her chicken and scrambled eggs.

I'm going to make her some bolognaise this afternoon, does anyone know if its ok to put mushrooms in? I've not heard anyone mention anything about mushrooms!?

xx

My friends aunt did that to her LO behind her back when baby was VERY small. She wasn't happy about it!

My OH nearly gave LO a plain biscuit - kinda like a digestive. He was like....whats the harm ect ect. I said no way, not until LO is older. Plenty of time for that carry on.

I saw someone on facebook give their 3 month old baby angel delight  :shakehead:

A friend of mine posted yesterday her Los first weaning day
Breakfast: toast with butter and nutella
lunch: tuna salad and toast with honey and butter
Dinner: fried chicken, mash potatoes and gravy and apple pie with icecream

I actually saw pictures of all these.... LO is 17 weeks...

OmG, I thought honey was the biggest nono to give babies due to the fact it can cause botulism in babies!? I know a person who gave their daughter a hamburger to eat at 6 months old and she ate the whole thing... And they bragged about it!

I think mushrooms are absolutely fine- just well prepped (peeled, washed etc). There is a shepheards pie recipe in a handout I got from the blw talk and there are mushrooms in that so am sure its fine! xx

:shock::shock: Cant believe this! I know we shouldnt judge but how is LO meant to cope with that lot? The honey in particular as Mrs KM says is a big no no! I guess some people just dont get educated about this stuff! x
