Did anyone eat during thier last labour? With ds I was not aloud as I was flagged to be on stand by for intervention so no food for like 2 days and then with my dd I had a 12 hour induction but established from 2cm to 10cm for 6hrs and I ate between contractions cottage pie and cherry cheese cake. Was starving so my mum fed me whilst I was breathing in gas too

With this one I hope to be able to eat as well as it really gave me extra energy x

Lol when I gave birth (with both) but in particular my last one, I get adrenalin rush which makes me through up and unfortunately all my food comes up but its involuntary and I dont "feel" sick, it's more a reaction. X

From start of established labour to giving birth took 48 hours for me and in that time I had a piece of toast and a hot chocolate! I didn't even think about food! This time I'll take some snacks in case I feel hungry haha.

With my first I was starving but then like you was on alert for intervention so wasn't allowed anything. I remember arguing with the midwife while out my face on diamorphine that I wanted to eat a packet of crisps!

Second time around was elective section so nil by mouth from the night before. The toast and orange juice they gave me after I had him tasted sooooo good!!

When I was at home I at loads - I did the first 10 hours at home (4 hours in hospital). At the hospital I didn't eat anything.

I was force fed during the first, a wispa chocolate bar so then I asked for milk because it was so dry! Then asked for jam on toast! :)
This time I have bought some food and drink to take in myself haha

Interesting.... I've packed two bottles of lucozade and a few little packets of haribos. Hopefully labour will be quick and I won't get a chance to starve ;);)

I was literally forced toast as i hadnt eaten like all day but just didnt want food. Guzzled water and isotonic drinks though!!

Unwrapped a chocolate bar and it got as far as my lips before midwife stopped me as I had just had an epidural.....gutted. It was another 24 hours before I ate; best slice of toast I have ever tasted! xxx

Brilliant stories. I've packed these nutribars I got at a baby show a week or so ago and they were having boxes of them out for free. I tried one and they were so yummy and they're packed with energy. I've also got these lucazade tablet type of powdered sweets which they said I can have if I'm not aloud to eat so I've got loads of them and I'll make sure I've got some other goodies. X

I had a sandwich which very quickly came back up soon after lol x
