Im quite concerned at the mixed reviews ive heard. I never get poorly but since ive been pregnant my immune system seems to be really low, ive just got over a throat infection which i have had for 6 days. :wall2:
It doesnt help that we cant take most medications.
Im worried that ill get poorly over the winter but no one seems to know clear facts weather its safe for my baby or not, helppppppppp :wall2: xxxxx

Have the jab, flu kills pregnant ladies and babies. Look on the nhs website or ask you mw if you're unsure but to me it's a no-brainer xx

I'm having it done this sat. The risks of catching flu Far out weight the risks to having the jab in my opinion. I'm nervous but I want to do everything I can for my baby and mines health. But it's your choice, your body. No one will judge you.xx

I had my flu jab 4 weeks ago. I decided to go for it as I ended up getting a really bad cold from some germ ridden toad at work and I ended up in A & E because of it so I thought it would be the safest option to have it.

In the end though it is your choice.

my friend who's about to drop had hers done a week ago and is really suffering. its all inflamed and looks infected. They have tad her next time she has jab she is to go into hospital as it must b some sort of reaction. Its really putting me off getting it:/ x

Iv been struggling with this one too and as per my "happymeal" post iv been unable to get straight answers from GP so hoping to get more info from MW . its not really a black or white issue there arguements from both sides from what i see so its just down to which you think is the bigger risk hun, No one can make that one for you im afraid

But if you do get any factual info from gp or mw id love to hear what they have to say :)

i put a thread on here recently as i was very unsure what to do. did some research too and even wrote a post on my blog about it, - got it in the end purely due to the job i do and the scares involved

As with any vaccine there are risks - there are people who have bad reactions to it - but at the end of the day FLU KILLS.
I've had flu jab for a good few years now, and personally I feel that the risk from jab are far far less than the risk from the virus.
Im currently suffering from a cold/cough type thing and i feel awful - i dread to think how bad it would be if i got flu.

My opinion is that if the flu jab was particularly dangerous for our unborn kids then this information WOULD be readily available, where as the info about flu causing miscarriage and pre-term labour is pretty much stated everywhere.

Im with Cosmic - in that for me its a no-brainer - i even made DH get his this year.

if you're worried chat to your mw.

I had mine done a couple of weeks ago, no side effects at all, swine flu is so dangerous when pregnant i didnt want to take that risk for baby, its really up to you though, i would advise anyone to get it.

xx

I got my flu jab today! Feel safe knowing that I have made myself and baba nice and safe...it's bad enough having a cold, never mind getting the flu!! X

I was told by my auntie who is a nurse and would defo only tell me things that were safe for the babe. I had mine done as the risks just weren't worth it hun in my opinion. xxxxxx

im in two minds too. ive only ever had the flu once in my life and i can count on the one hand how many times ive had a cold (im 30). ive known people who have had the flu jab, only then who get the flu bad when they have hardly had it before. im going to speak to my doctor about it (he tends to tell you what he thinks based on his own educated opinion, not just by reading out of an NHS textboook) so will decide then. but agree with the other ladies on here, its your choice x

It doesn't matter that you don't suffer regularly from the flu though, so don't base your decision on that factor alone. My sister had never had flu before and the first time she ever got it she died from it.

Princess is right, doesn't matter how often you get cold and flu. There is a girl on the news tonight, 17 years old from the Wirral, just died from swine flu, her parents were on tv urging everyone to get the jab, heartbreaking x

I never had the flu before until last year, was in bed for a week with a raging fever. You may only have had flu once but it does not mean that you will not get it this year, you just have to ask your self if its worth the risk, in my opinion its not.

I had mine on saturday just gone. No problems at all. Very glad i got it :) x

Ive had mine and all is well. MW told me theres no research to suggest its harmful to pregnant ladies, and that they have been warned its going to be another bad year. Our immune systems arent at their usual standard when pregnant so we have a higher risk of catching it. I know someone who died of it last year leaving a 9 year old son without his mum xx

Oh god how dreadful! I can imagine how they are feeling - it's just devestating and I personally felt outraged that somone I loved could have died from something like the flu in this day and age :( god love them x

I had it done when I was pregnant! I had no side affects at all and Jack is a very happy & very healthy 4 month old! :) x
