UPDATE TWO:

I'm still getting the funny white flashing dots, but also feeling really lightheaded everyday, and getting blurred vision with little black smudges falling in front of my eyes! (I am eating & drinking plenty, and getting my 5 a day too).

I've brought this up with the MW and two different GPs now, and as my blood pressure has been fine, they are not worried :?

Feel stupid going back and booking another appointment to mention it for a 4th time, but it just doesn't seem right!
:(

UPDATE:

Been to the docs.

He confirmed SPD :( But took my blood pressure which was fine today and as protein etc is fine, he is not too worried but said to keep informed if symptoms get worse or persist.

I have another GP appointment with my regular doc next week for blood results, which even though this doc checked them and said was fine (just a little low in iron) to still keep the other appointment incase things feel like they're getting worse.

He thinks it may just be a blood flow thing, which is apparently slower when preggers, causing the dizzyness and dots.

Sorry I feel like I'm coming up with problem after problem!!

I can look after myself, honest!!

About half a dozen times now, I've had faint spells and get little white flashy dots in my eyes?! (Honestly, I'm not on drugs! Just Rennies!) I often get a bit dizzy too...anyone else?!

I mentioned it to GP a few weeks back and she just took my blood pressure, said it was high but ok and sent me home x

Are you eating enough and getting enough rest??

DEFINATELY eating enough!!! Have been running round a fair bit these last few weeks, but this weekend gone I made an effort to get some rest

Just remember your body is busy making another human being so it is bound to be overstretched and busy. I reckon that can manifest itself in different ways so just try and rest more and mention it again to you midwife in case symptoms like these should be monitored

Hidelui - i really dont want to scare you but i would ring the maternity unit and get them to check it out. VIsual disturbances are a sympton of pre eclampsia.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'd call your midwife and get checked out.

Yup, I totally agree. Well worth getting it checked out. Lx

I had pre eclampsia and that was how I started. Best to get checked hun.

Deffo get it checked out, my neighbor's 1st grandson arrived 5 weeks early as the mum was suffering from pre eclampsia, same symptoms as you are experiencing

Oooh gosh thanks ladies

I've booked in to see GP tomorrow about the pains I've been having (covered in another thread!) so will deffo bring this up as well.

A woman at work said before she had it with 2 of hers and they were 27weeks and 28 weeks

I have had swollen hands and feet too, which I've read are other symptoms, I did mention that to the GP with the dizzyness before but she just said it was normal in pregnancy and would go after birth!

please.... if the gp fobs you off again, ring the materinty unit and tell them your having visual disturbances and swelling.

they will prob ask you in for blood tests and an afternoon of monitoring.

keep us updated

A GP is unlikely to put two and two together really.

Ringing your midwife or maternity unit for advise would be the best thing

Thanks hun  will do. Keep all crossed for me.

Been meaning to say to you for ages how much I adore that pic of your little girl! It's such a cute photo, always makes me smile!! :D

Those little silver stars are nothing to worry about - I get them pregnant and when I'm not pregnant - I know loads of people that do. It's just harmless fluctuations in BP.

awwww thanks hun. shes filling out now, have uploaded a new pic in the parenting/ pictures & stories section

When I had headaches with no swelling or other symptoms the midwife was very quick to come round and check me over. She was at my house within 2 hours as they take it very seriously in case it's pre-eclampsia. I was fine, had just been over doing it and needed more rest.

Might be worth giving your mw a call this evening if you're worried.

Do you know what...I was just going to follow that advice and scanned through all my notes, and her number isn't even on there! Just the number for the doctors which is closed! I can rest with it until the morning I think, will watch a DVD in bed to take my mind off things.

I thought her mobile number was in there...but turns out the number she has written is my Mums as an emergency contact! :wall:

I programmed the number into my mobile when I had to ring her about the headaches as I thought it was probably best to as getting nearer baby day. Stupid predictive text though, she's now called "nighewig" in my mobile.

Hope you are feeling better in the morning.

Well I called the doctors where my MW is based (and my GP) but got passed around in a game of phone tennis then got a call back to say no MW is not there until Thursday! And to just bring it up with GP this afternoon.
