Hi ladies,

After a year & half of ttc I finally discovered on Monday that I am pregnant!!!! Took 3 tests within 5 hours before I convinced myself.

Since then ive felt sick with nerves & am so anxious I'm not at all enjoying the news!!! Not by the very sore boobs that i have but because of the mild cramps I've been getting like I'm about to come on my period... I Fear every time I use the bathroom that I will find blood!!

Probably doesn't help that every website I look at talks of how common early miscarriages are! ; (

Thought my Drs appt would reassure me today but in a nutshell he asked me to do a test but because the result line was so light at 5 weeks today that I should go back & see him in a week to confirm I am still pregnant before he goes ahead booking me in to see the midwife & for my scan etc!!!!!

I was so shocked & upset ... Not at all what I expected to be told... On a brighter note (!!!!!) he did tell me that if I did miscarry that the success rate of conceiving the next month is very high!!!!!!

Has anyone had the same experience.... I'd love some advice....

Thank you ; )

aww i'm sure everything will be just fine hun, its very daunting the first time i found as the pregnancy went on i got more excited and less nervous and tbh i am such a whimp hee hee. good luck hun xx

awww sounds like me 6 weeks ago, i still check for blood everytime i go loo though. and i have lost count of how many HPT's i have done.

Word of advice do not google anything to do with your pregnancy just ask us lovely ladies here no matter how gross it is dont worry we all go through it!!

It is natural to be scared this is my first too but you just gotta learn to enjoy it hun, seriously though google is the devil!!!

Lol ... I hope I lose the anxiousness soon ... It's ruining it for me!!

Are you surprised at what my Dr said or is that just standard procedure?? Xxxx

oh and by the way cramps are normal in early pregnancy i think most of the ladies on here will say the same :) x

oh yeah and i am 10.5weeks and noone has confirmed my pregnancy yet so dont worry :)

Thanks Lynette... I'm steering clear of google from now on ... It's doing me no favours whatsoever!!!

So glad I found this forum ... Think it's just what I need ; ) xxx

as for ur doctor i am quite surprised, i was told even if the line is faint its still a positive, i havent even had the doctor check and do another test they sent me straight to the midwife and took my word for it which was odd as this didnt happen with my 1st they confirmed it first before getting me an appointment with mw xx

even my MW never confirmed me lol although why would i lie haha i just keep peeing on them sticks hehehe

haha that is very true lynette a positive is a positive so i guess some dont feel the need to question u xx

I think possibly because I am polycystic & was so nervous saying how I had cramps, aches in my legs & was convinced I was going to bleed. He then proceeded to tell me how he was fairly sure I was pregnant as it was a positive test ... But that I should give it another week!! That's when he started trying to put a positive spin on the fact that I had conceived (as I was booked in for an op today for a Laparoscopy & a Histeroscopy before putting us forward for IVF) & that if i did miscarriage i would likely concieve again as I had managed it this time!! I couldn't believe it... I come out of there feeling worse... A week seems like such a long way away for him to confirm I am still pregnant!! ; ( Xxx

yh a week does seem a long time in ur situation but t be fair u have seen the positive in black and white on numerous occasions by the sound of it so think positive i cant see him telling u any different from what u already know so just enjoy hun :) its all fun and games from here on xx

Thanks Deedee ... I am trying ; )

My other half is getting pretty fed up with my negativity over it all so I had better snap out of it soon xxxx

Hi Karen

I wouldn't worry about the cramps. I had those at week 4 then at week 6 and get the odd cramp still.

as long as the cramps are not associated with any bleeding, it sounds like everything is fine.

Congratulations though, no more ttcing for you xx

hee hee its easy done, since i found out it still hasnt sunk in and every little spot or ache/pain i'm worrying about, i was never like that with my 1st i jus got on with it and enjoyed it. think i will be happy once i have had a scan and know that things are ok! damn internet...i think that makes u worry more with some of the things u read...if i recall i didnt have access to the net when i was pregnant with my daughter so thats probably why! :) xx

Thanks Kerrieanne ; ) It still hasn't sunk in!!

Cant believe it was so near to my op!!

Fortunately for me i have no bleeding... If I do get any you lovely ladies will be the first to know!!!!

I'll definitely feel better once I've had the scan Deedee... May even try my luck at getting an early scan to try to ease my anxiety ... My heart feels like it's beating 10 to the dozen all the time ...

I wish I hadn't read any of the horror stories on the Internet ... Will be sticking to this forum from now on ; ) xxxx

hee hee...i have managed to get in for an early scan on wednesday due to spotting yesterday and having the odd sharp pain today but when i spoke to the early preg unit she said all these things were normal in early pregnancy but she would book me in for a scan anyways just to put my mind at ease! Am sure in a good few weeks hun u will be just fine and enjoying the pregnancy :) xx

That's good news that they will book you in to put your mind at rest ... Do let me know how you get on, on Wednesday ; ) I'm definitely going to try my luck!!

It must be so scary when you start spotting!! Your obviously braver than you let on to be so calm about it...

How lovely that your on your 3rd!! I'll just be so happy with 1 !!! Your kids look beautiful ; ) xxxx

Hello and congrats!!! You are me three weeks ago!! First couple of weeks of knowing is amazing and horrible all at once. My miscarriage paranoia was out of control by the end of the first week of knowing and my OH did have to 'have words' with me. I don't think the crazy hormones help.
I then decided the stress of worrying was probably worse so needed to get a hold of myself!! In those first couple of weeks every twinge or change of symptoms was a miscarriage in my eyes. I got ovary/ovulating type pain, sore boobs then not sore, sickness then not sick (now sick all the time!!) and each time I panicked. But the ladies on here are fab and there is a wealth of experience to draw on. I'm now nearly 7 weeks and am finally starting to relax, accepting that what will be will be, and that although losing the bean would be devastating (even at this early stage), I CAN get pregnant, and actually, AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT of pregnancies end with a healthy baby! (and mine will be one of them!!)
I rang my doctor and they wouldn't even see me - just checked I'd done a test and referred me straight to the midwife at 8 weeks. And as for faint/dark lines, lots of the ladies on here have loads of different experiences, and it might just be that you are very early on. Good luck and don't fret!!!

yeah i will deffo let u know how i get on, i think i didnt panic due to most of the ladies on here going thru the same thing and things been all well and it does help when the midwives tell u that that and cramps can b normal preg symptoms! Oooh n not onto my 3rd hee hee, i just have the 1, my 4year old daughter...2's my limit :D my friend is onto her 7th :O xx
