first midwife appointment

well went to the docs 2day, wasnt really much point to be honest she didnt check my blood pressure or anything just told me to make an appointment with the midwife and asked if it was planned! o well.

anyway my first appointment is on the 2nd july, when i'll be 8 weeks, i thought u wud have one earlier than that? or is that pretty standard? anyway, i cant wait, just wana get past the first 12 weeks!

yep thats standard.. thats when the midwife can sometimes pick up the heartbeat..i have mine next week, they usualyl weigh you, blood pressure and urine sample..

I had my first midwife app at 6 weeks, following a doctor app. She didn't say much at this app, just a few leaflets to read thru. I had my hour long app yesterday with the midwife. She went thru my med history, blood test, urine sample, weight. She also tried to listen to the baby's heart but couldnt get it, she said not to be too disheartened as it is still early. Booked my next one for mid July now.

i had my booking in appt with my gp who did weight, bp and urine tests that was at 6weeks... i have a midwife appt when i'll be 9wks

My doctor just sent the notification off to the hospital so that I'd be booked in for my first scan at 12 weeks - and that's it! I'm hoping when the hospital send the confirmation letter and date that there will be more information because I feel a bit left out to dry!

I had my first appt earlier this week - 8wks, 2 days and she said that she hated seeing women who turned out to be less than 8 weeks because there's not much you can do for them at that stage - they need you to have missed two a/f and be at that magic threshold before they go through all the info, otherwise they're worried about disappointments.

Only took height, weight and b/p. She's coming to my house next Tuesday to do first wee check and have a good long talk in comfortable surroundings, so the first one was quite short because she's saving most of the info till then!

I did get my pack of info, personal record etc, and she also booked me in for my first scan while I was there.

oh right i spose that fair enough, just hope the wait doesnt drag on too long! im sooo impatient, dont know how im gona last 9 months b4 i meet my baby to be honest lol

I went to the docs today and was told about what not to eat and what can be expected in the next few months.
Made an appointment for the local mid wife to call me and she will come round to the house.
