what did you do for your littles one first ??

(at mo were thinking joint party in mid jan and on his bday were taking him to an indoor play barn not as an official party more a meet lol and gonna ask if we can take a cake in ) have to do 2 things as our fammiles are miles apart !

Yes we did! :cheer:
I probably went a bit OTT

I know he won't remember it but it was important to me. I wanted to celebrate his 1st ever birthday. We have loads of pictures and footage so he can watch it when he is older.

We hired a large room at our library. It was on a Sunday and in a seperate building so no one was around. It was also very cheap, I think about £25 for the day. We put up decorations and ballons and I put up loads of pictures of him over the 1st year of his life and tried to make sure there were pictures of him with everyone that was coming. I also made a flash movie of him for people to watch on our laptop if they wanted to (I just left it on the side, I never made people all sit down like watching a slide show! :rotfl: )

We had cake, party bags, games, invitations and a buffet. Everything was scooby doo, picked by OH!
I even made parcel parcel for the adults with wine and grown up toys and we did musical statues for the adults aswell with a bottle of rioja for the winner. It was a really good party. We also had beer and wine for the adults.

Not doing anything as organised this year! Just planning a little birthday party at zoomania.

We took him to the safari park on his actual birthday (Saturday), then round to my parents for his first birthday tea - just a cake and presents, no decorations. Then the next day (Sunday) we went to the in-laws for the day and had more presents and another cake. So just familt stuff but I didn't go to antenatal classes so never had a group of mums with babies the same age to celebrate with.

we did the whole shebang!
loads of decorations and balloons, loads of food, drinks for adults aswell, we had a really big celebration, we had bouncy castle, loot bags and everything,we had a great day and so did glenn, he loved it!

Hayden had 2 partys one at stews nans house with all his family and a cake some food etc it was boring and ended about 7! Then i had one at my mums house for all my friends and family with a big number one cake, a BBQ , balloons, the lot but he fell asleep by 6 and was knackered from playing all the new toys etc so i put upstairs for a nap and all the adults got drunk and ate themselves stupid..was quite fun :-)

With Tia we put up a banner, filled the living room with balloons (she LOVED balloons), made nibblys and a cake, and invited all the family round for Tia's first... I cried :( Its an end of an era and the beginning of a new one for them and for you. They are no longer the baby, but the little lady/man.

It wasn't huge... but it was something to celebrate making it through her first year of life. It wasn't until she was 4 that we held a proper big one with friends etc. :)

We are planning to do 2 in one day, just at home though. One over lunchtime for friends with babies, then after that am open house for family and friends without babies. We will do party food for the one with the babies, and will prob get matching plates etc. I am only making one cake though! I have only ever made about 2 cakes in my life, but for some reason I want to be the one that makes my baby's first cake!!

Amber's first birthday was on a sunday, so we just had everyone round to ours (luckily we have quite a big house!)She has 6 cousins between the ages of 1 - 9, and some of my friends were there with their LO's who are all around the same age as her. Both sets of Grandparents were there plus all her aunties, uncles, etc.

We had games for the kids like pass the parcel, musical statues, etc., and we also hired a bouncy castle for the garden which all the kids loved! I bought matching sets of everything (napkins, plates, balloons, etc.), it was all Tinkerbell themed. The party bags, I just made up myself with various bits and pieces so there were suitable ones for both the boys and the girls. We did quite a bit of food, just the usual cold buffet sort of bits, and also had a few bottles of wine & a crate of beer for the adults. I couldn't be bothered to make a cake so I just bought a mahoosive one from Tescos!

:)

It was great fun :) We started at the soft play area, then moved onto a family friendly pub in town where we all had eats :D

edit- it was themed too, Thomas style, and I did party bags :) so don't worry about it if you want to go over the top :) why not eh :D

We did a "small" party at 4pm for family and his little friends..unfortunately he was feeling very poorly and missed his party. I did party bags for his little friends with a box of raisins, some bubbles, some milky way stars and a squeaky toy from Sainsburys that were reduced to 39p each.

we just had a few family and friends over. We had a party type food buffet on the dining table, and just a few balloons and a "happy first birthday" banner and 1st birthday cake.

(v.old pic...she's 7 now  Where does the time go?...anyway....)

Oh, and we did the whole matching napkins and plates thing...and why not?? They only turn 1 once, and tbh i think the party is as much for you as it is for them  They wont remeber but we took so many pics at Beths first birthday, and we got it all on camcorder so she can keep it foreeevvaahhhh!

we had jay's party in a resturant on the saturday b4 her birthday.we had balloons, banners and all you can eat. then on her actually bday we just had a nice family meal.
i made 3 cakes for her, for the resturant we had chocolate cake with pink buttercream (1 small 1 medium ) and for her actuall bday i did a sponge princess cake.

we had a trip to the park, bloons and a cake from summerfield. lol. Nothing big at all. Looking back, we couldnt possibly really, id not long given birth to my second baby, who around this time had servere colic, and plus money was very tight.

I'm not sure what to do for Ryan's first Birthday! Most of my family live 2 hours away otherwise id organise a big party. I dont think he will be crawling before a year old otherwise i would probably take him to the local farm which has a huge indoor playground to and invite his younger cousins
