hi girlies

my lo has been on solids for 2/3 months now . i have read so many different ages as to when finger foods should be introduced some say 6mths some say seven and some say eight ??? :moon: im confused as ive read that leaving it too late can cause them to refuse to eat lumpy food ?? :wall:
so when do you lot feel is the right age ?? and what is best to introduce at first ? im so scared of him chocking !!!! :(

please help

Rhian and christopher who is 6mths - ignore ticker its wrong!!!

toast, carrot sticks, rice cakes, apple, theres so many things u can give him now!
so long as ur watching him then he will be fine, he needs to start learning to chew and swallow!
u can buy 'baby safe feeders' on ebay, that wont let any big lumps get in his mouth!

We gave Charlie toast at about 6 months and used to laugh at the way he would suck it to death. We found that his gag reflex was really good when he pushed too much in and he would just spit it out. Just watch him when he has something and make sure he doesnt choke.
We started with toast, rice cakes, the Organix Carrot sticks which are like natural flavout wotsits which tend to melt in the mouth, apple thick slices which he used to suck when teething....

Id say about now is the ideal time :D

Chunks of cucumber with the skin removed and popped in the freezer for 10 mins are great, especially when they are teething!

as the other ladies has said.

toast, bread sticks, cucumber, apple, mango

loads and loads to try!!

It is so much fun when you start finger foods... lots of messy faces!! Time to get the camera out!! :cheer:
