I had my final scan yesterday, i had to go back for a 3rd as the baby was being awkward before and the lady couldn't check her heart properly.

When i went back this time though the baby had moved it to a position they were able to look but was looking for a good 15 mins umming and arring until i told her i had to go n put some more money on my parking which she said was good, go and have a walk and come back and were have another look.

When we came back she knocked on the other scanners door then they both went in and had a chat i was sooo worried something was wrong.

I then got took in to another room which they said the scanning machine was better in and they were both looking for another 10 mins. In the end the decided everything was okay they were just making sure a 100%, the heart looked fine and not everybody s exactly the same but there's nothing to worry about.

I dont have any more scans which kinda put my mind at rest as im sure they would have asked me to come back for more tests n scans if they were worried. I'm at queen charlottes as well, which is a specialist hospital so they should know what there doing.

I got a better piccy this time 2 :)

I am so glad all was OK!

The were really quiet whilst looking at my babies heart and I had to ask them if all was OK

(I had 2 sonographers!!)

They apologised for being so quiet and explained that 20 week scan can take some time due to them needing certain measurements etc... Fine - but at least freaking tell us.

They were better after that but there were still several silences whilst the looked at other things, I was a bit of a wreck after that scan

xxxxxxxxxx

Sonographers should never be quiet! Suddenly very grateful that the one at my 20 week scan was chattering away non-stop.
Glad everything is good though, your picture's lovely :)
x

I've got to back for a second scan as my LO did the same at my 20 week scan! Was hiding her top lip with her hands and wouldn't lie right for the heart measurements - he managed to get a look at her lip in the end. I worried for a while after as he didn't ask me to jiggle around or anything - just said it would be easier at 23 weeks.... Now I'm just grateful to get the chance to see her again (and double check that she is indeed a she!). It is a worry when they go quiet though - I guess it helps them to concentrate and get it right! Glad your LO is ok :) xx

My 20week scan was very quiet. When she was checking the heart, I panicked as it stopped beating, but the sonographer must of seen the panic in my face and she said oh don't worry it hasn't stopped, I just took a picture to get some checks... Babies heart was beating fine. Obv the picture wasn't moving! I could of poked her in the eye making me worry like that!x

Glad all is ok with you bub. Maybe some sonographers need to be quite so they can concentrate however they really should tell you what they are looking at.
I'm grateful now that ours was really chatty and told us everything she was doing even about using a light to see thelat the blood was flowing in and out of the heart properly.

Well, thank goodness it was alright, but what a worry you must have had though , fortunately mine was really chatty and so really put my mind at rest straight away. Are you team yellow ? xx

I did ask her if everything was okay and she tried to reassure me that it was buy saying she thinks so she just wants to make sure a 100%. But she was looking for so long all I could think was there was somethings wrong . Katey I'm team pink, what about you? X

Glad your scan went well in the end hon.

I was fortunate as my sonographer talked me through each thing she looked at and measured. Even when she was checking for a cleft lip, that was funny actually because babies face looked like it was pressed up on a window. Wished I'd asked for that photo!!

Yay for another team pink girlie! Gad everything went well in the end. I too was frustrated at my scan. Silence was deafening. Awful, made me so anxious and In the end I could feel. Y BP going through the roof! They could atleast explain why they are quiet. 40 mins felt like forever for me! Xxx

Congratulations on your pink bundle , I was going to say it definitely looked pink to me too but didn't want to spoil it if you were staying yellow. Mines blue and I'm well chuffed with that xx

How can you tell Katey? I find it so hard. Glad u think the same tho. Sometimes I worry there wrong lol.
