Rather than start various threads I'm just going to splurge all my questions on one. Any advice on all/any much appreciated :)

1. Lo is 11 weeks old now, she's always been a good sleeper since about 6 weeks, 6 hours through the night was a bad night! Night before last she was asleep from 10pm, I woke her for a nappy change and a fees, she only took one Oz and cried and gurney a lot for being woken up. So last night she was out for the count in my arms by eleven. She hadn't eaten since after her bath at 8.30 but I thought won't wake her as it upset her last night for very little food so just took her up to bed. She slept till 8.30 am :/ should I be waking her for feeds at this age or should I leave her to sleep? I couldn't decide what to do this morning and spent about an hour sitting staring at her trying to figure what to do!

2. I've not been on much this week, she got her first jags week past yesterday and by the Friday she was in sick kids hospital having taken a bad reaction to the vaccinations. Has anyone's lo taken a bad reaction to their first jags and we're they the same with their second?

3. As well as the bad reaction to the vaccinations they also say she was having an allergic reaction which they believe was to the calpol. This makes sense as I have a strawberry allergy and couldn't take any medicines with strawberry flavouring as a baby/child. Does anyone know of any alternatives to calpol that aren't strawberry flavoured?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. Stressful week she really scared me and I'm in a but of a spin/panic now over absolutely everything :( xx

I love this forum because it's such a great place to ask these questions when we get stressed. I had exactly the same question about my lo sleeping when he was the same age and everyone agreed that I should let him sleep. If your lo is hungry then she would wake up for food. Enjoy it while it lasts! With regards to the calpol allergy, I believe that you can get infant nurofen in orange flavour which might suit your lo better. Really hope she feels better soon, the poor little tyke x

Sorry it's a quick reply...neurofen do an orange flavour, try that instead x

As naomi says with the sleeping, at night don't bother waking them for feeds. She will no doubt make up for it in the day.

My LO never had a reaction to the jabs but was always a nightmare for a week or so afterwards. If you have allergies it's likely she will have them also. I don't know about alternatives to calpol to be honest as most things for kids are strawberry flavour. I'm sure even our nurofen says strawberry flavour on the box, although it tastes nothing like it! What type of calpol was it, as you can get the clear/white one which is meant to be sugar and colour free etc? I'm sure your GP or pharmacist would be able to advise, there must be some variety of low dose paracetamol thatis jjust water soluble tablets or something I would have thought.

Thanks all :)

Will.leave her to sleep,I figured she would probably wake if she was hungry but have been watching her like a hawk since she got out and am questioning myself over everything. I actually lay crying last night worrying she wasn't going to wake up! I'm in a total spin!
Naomip sounds ominous, will it not last? :)

It's the colour free calpol I used but still strawberry flavoohred. The pharmacist here said there was something else that was orange flavoured but when she got it it had changed to strawberry too. Will have a look for the orange neurofen thank you.one last silly question, does neurofen bring down a fever same as paracetamol?

Yes it does, some say it's better than calpol, I use both

Defo orange nurofen and works for longer than calpol so great last thing at night. And would defo leave baby as long as their is no weight problems :-) x

Thanks :)

Last one, promise, fist chewing when she's not hungry, could she ve teething at 11 weeks?? I can't feel anything on her gums but not sure what this new sign language means.

Sorry no more I swear!

Second what the others have said...let a sleeping baby sleep!!

Fist chewing can be a sign of early teething, but it's generally a sign of development- they use their mouths to test things out, so chewing on fists is just the start of things going into their mouths!!

1. Let her sleep and make the most of it!
2. Sorry I can't help here
3. I got orange nurofen from tesco, my local one sold orange and strawberry, sometimes nurofen is actually better than paracetamol for bringing down a temperature although you can't give it to babies under 3 months. Also it's worth having a look at shop own brand liquid paracetamol to see if they do different flavours.

Will order banana one online that's so helpful thanks for that :)

Brilliant thank you all great help as always.

I keep trying to replace her fist with her dummy, obviously it doesn't taste as good...
