Jess has made no attempt so far to crawl, stand or walk. She sits unaided, grabs things, passes from hand to hand etc and flips from her back onto stomach. But when she's on her stomach she can't flip back onto her back and gets frustrated after a while and cries.
Now I've googled average age for crawling and rolling back over and no I'm worried something is wrong!
My common sense is telling me all babies are different but now I've read some worrying things i feel stressed out!

Just remember all babies are different. She is probably able to do some other things that other babies that don't crawl yet don't do. Try not to worry. If you want some reassurance, speak to your health visitor. Googling can be dangerous sometimes and can cause unnecessary worry. I'm sure she is fine. xxx

Step away from google! It's the worst thing to do. My lo didn't start rolling back over til after she crawled! Also with each milestone, it's looked like one day she's not even nearly close, then the next she's suddenly doing it. Please don't worry yourself x

Hi Cjj - can't see tickers so not sure how old your lo but just want to tell you my experience with my lg!

Didn't sit unaided or roll til about 7/8m, crawled at 11.5m, walked at 17m - so in all areas a bit on the later side! It use to break my heart when people would ask if she was walking and Id have to say she wasn't even crawling!

She did, however, develop quiet early with her babbling and talking

Now at 18m she's running everywhere and really chatty so compared to other kids her age she actually seems advanced! Which is weird because for so long she seemed a bit delayed!

Everything is just a guide and Google is the enemy! If I could go back in time I'd want to tell myself to calm down and just let her go at her own pace, so that's my advice to you xxxxx

You have to remember that the development guides tell you when the average baby does things; which means some babies do it earlier and some babies do it later. You can always raise it with your HV, but I doubt they'll be worried unless there are signs of a problem preventing her from crawling.

I was much the same. My baby rolled over a grand total of about 5 times EVER, didn't crawl til she was 16 months and finally started walking at 19 months. At the time I thought I'd be carrying her into primary school, but now she's 2y10m and you can't tell any difference between her and her baby friends (some of whom were walking at 10 months.) I know it's stressy but it will happen eventually, I promise!

I skipped the crawling part altogether apparently and just started walking! She might do the same!

Like every one else has said step away from Google!!

My LO was late rolling, crawling and walking. He wasn't really walking properly until about 18 months. He's now 22 months and you would never know based on the way he can dart off and run around!

My mum said my brother (her first) was late to walk, so was my nephew (who was also my sisters first) so I think its something in my family boys and/orr first babies are late movers. I was getting to the point of panicking about it though, but even the HV was telling me not to worry about it.

My daughter rolled at 6 months, sat unaided at 10.5 months, crawled at 12.5 months, didn't weight-bear on her legs until 17 months and then finally walked at 19 months (she never "cruised", just one day stood up in the middle of the floor!). Her paediatrician said that as long as she was doing everything else (like responding to sound, commands, turning pages of a book etc., then there was no neurological reason that she wouldn't walk and it would happen at some point).

They all do stuff at their own pace. Try not to worry xx

My daughter didn't crawl till over a year old but she walked at 7.5 months. Ollie can roll from tummy to back but won't roll the other way and is also finding his feet but not knees. Babies differ so much hun maybe she is just happy to sit where she is. Will she walk holding your hands xxx

Thanks everyone, feel much better reading your posts x

My brother made no attempt apparently, my mum got really frustrated at his first birthday with everyone asking if he wasn't trying to crawl or walk yet. Day after his party he got up and walked away!

My son, who will be 9 in a few weeks never rolled over either way, he never bum shuffled, never crawled! He could sit up, but wherever you sat him that would be where he would still be - no attempt to move! He was like that until he was almost 10 months, we then started standing him up and getting him used to balance etc - he then started using push along walkers and then without cruising around furniture he just started taking steps between two people or between something and you etc......he was more or less walking unaided by his 1st birthday.

My 2 daughters however both started crawling between 7-8 months and 1st daughter was walking by age 1 and my 9 month old is currently cruising - so they really are all different
