Hi all,

Sorry I've not been on here in a while, we are busy moving house. I've had a peek on here when I've been able to and reading your comments and experiences has been great, despite not having much time to post myself.

Trimester 2 seems to be zooming by and after a fairly quiet, stress-free pregnancy so far I feel like I've run into a brick wall!!! Everything aches and hurts, bump's got massive all of a sudden, legs and back ache loads, am having trouble sleeping due to leg and back ache and I am totally out of breath all the time. All of the above are pretty normal I think, although it does concern me that I have another 3.5 months of this and it's all going to get worse!!!

What is worrying me, and I don't know if any of you ladies have experienced the same, is that I am getting pains down below. I don't think it is a water-works infection, although I don't know for sure. It really hurts when I move and feels like something to do with my bones and joints down there. Sometimes it feels like pressure down there, other times it is just a sharp pain when I get out of the car, get up off the sofa or, in particular, when I turn over in bed. As long as it's normal, I'll stop worrying - just can't find anything that sounds like it in books/on internet.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and that I hope you're all well and enjoying this special time! Is so nice now I can feel him move!!!:)

Random pains are perfectly normal - your body is getting itself all ready for the birth and sudden stabbing pains are usually round ligament pain as they stretch, especially if you find it happens when you move. If you're at all worried give your midwife a call though

Hey Ickleprawn - what your describing sounds like SPD to me; I had it last time with Rosie and I have had twinges this time too, my hips click when I move around and my pubic bione as times feel like it is dividing! See your midwife and ask for a referral to physiotherapy, they will give you a support belt to start with probably. In the meantime keep your legs together when you get out of bed/the car etc.

Good luck; I know how you feel

Thanks Rosie's Mummy - have been awake since 4am with lots of pain and couldn't get comfy. Have had a quick read and that does sound like it. I have a midwife's appointment tomorrow so will see what she says then. Hope it doesn't get any worse!

Hi Rosie's mummy, just to say that you were spot on as midwife thinks i have SPD and has referred me to a midwife. Is nice to know what it is, but not so nice to think that there's not much to be done about it!

I hope the midwives and docs can help ease your discomfort hun xx
