Could anyone please tell me if its ok for (almost) 6 month old to start having yogurt? As they can't have cows milk until one year old but milk is in yogurt so wasn't sure?

Also I bought some of the Rachel's organic ones (my first yogurts) but is it better to just give natural yogurt with puréed fruit?

Thanks

You can give cows milk from six months old as part of a meal, say with cereal, part of sauces or puddings etc. It's just that you should not replace baby's formula/breast milk with it until a year as it doesn’t have enough vitamins etc on its own.

Yogurts are also fine from six months.

Babies can have cows milk in food from 6 months, just not as a drink until a year old x

The Rachel's First yogurts are the only children's yogurts that we found without added sugar in them, so they are ok to give. They are very runny though, so didn't suit us. And they are sweetened (albeit with fruit juice), so you may prefer to start with plain natural yogurt.

As long as the yoghurt is fromage frais it's fine :)

Thanks everyone, it's exciting giving her new tastes to try!!
