family cars

ive just been on What car? website and they say the voyager is crap  so im back to searching :wall:

OMG now my 8 year old has started with... "mummy, you're gonna need a new car before the baby comes"...when I asked her if she had the money to pay for it, she said she had 5 € in her money box.... awwwwww :D Can you get cars for that price?

im quite lucky, got a toyota lucida, 8 seater. the seats in the back also fold flat into a huge bed or they all fold up like a van.
got it off ebay 2 years ago for bargain price of £900 (had to drive all the way from plymouth to nottingham to pick it up though

i would HIGHLY recommend parking sensors, we've got them and they are a godsend, with reversing onto our drive they beep when i get near to dh's bike and the time it was in the garage and we had a hire car, well lets just say i was waiting for the sensors to start bleeping at me and they didn't :rotfl:

oh this is such a sensitive subject in our house!!!!

I have a 2-seater covertible sports car which i'm gonna have to sell for a more sensible grown-up type car

I've been putting it off for ages but this weekend I took it for washing and cleaning, just need to take pictures of it and it'll be in autotrader next week. I don't want to be there when a buyer comes to drive it away!!!

G3M our dog goes in the boot, we have oen of those steel dog guards and she's happy as larry

i have citreon picasso and i love it has loads of room and storage and seats come out easily if you need more room

We have just had a simular problem, we had a VW Bora which has a huge boot BUT we have a 10 year old and two woofys and now the baby so we bought the VW Touran can honestly say its perfect its a diesel costs £300 a year fully comp for both of us insured with all legal and every other cover, also does 45+mpg town driving. :cheer:

wow thats brill

i been searching all night and narrowed my search down to 3...

kia sedona, ford galaxy or toyota lucida

going to see if i can find any to test drive to help make my mind up

I have a fiat punto :( & the OH has a vauxhall vectra estate.

So I think I will have to have his when the baby comes (we have 2 dogs too) & he will have to have mine - Ha Ha, he won't be happy. But that will only be until we px the punto

Have you thought about the Ford S-Max? They look cool :D

Weve got a mondeo Ghea X :cheer: its so cool, all we need now is the family :rotfl:

we've got a mercedes a-class - would recommend it to anyone. ts a fab car that can't quite make up its mind whether it's a big car or a little car!
the back seats come right out which means there's loads of room for shipping huge items around. and it seats 5 people with ample room in the boot for everything that we need :) i luuuuurve it!

This our First baby - but we dont have to worry about our car - we bought his parents citreon berlingo off them at a bargain price 02 reg (for £750) last year and it is more like a van with seats than a car! There is so much space!

Ditto - we love ours

Plus I actually thing of all the larger family cars it drives most like a normal car - I forget ours is a 2litre deisel sometimes - very good on deisel too - very rarely drops below 45mpg (only when pulling away harshly and then only for a second)

We love ours and will get another one when this one goes to the scrap yard in the sky (hopefully not too soon as the money we have saved for a new car is disappearing on new sofas and about to go on a new tv too  ) It's only on 51 plate so should last a good few years yet!

urchin - we could not afford a Ford S-Max :(

we need 7 seater so picasso etc are no good, for when grand parents visit and we go on day trips, at the minute they sit either side of alana, but when new baby is here we will need the extra room.

we have maybe a max of 5k to spend as i will only get about 2k for my astra

We looked at a Kia Sedona - but they were about £14k!
For a Kia!?!

(sorry I can be a bit of a car snob  even though we now own the worlds MOST mass produced car!)

ETA don't know about the price, but I think there is a 7seater version of the picasso (or whatever the name for it is! C4 picasso or something) Citroens are fairly cheap.
