False labour? Or slow early stage?

Hey girls as the title says really. I'm not sure if what I experienced today was maybe false labour or the starts of a slow early stage.

I've been cramping on and off all day, then around 4ish this afternoon I got what I am certain were full blown contractions. They felt exactly like my contractions from early labour with DD.

Once I realised they were coming quite regularly, and the pain really kicked in I started timing them. At first they were 9 minutes apart lasting approximately 30 seconds. Over the next 2 hours they got longer and closer together until they were coming every 4 minutes for around 45 seconds.

Along with the increase, the pain also escalated. They started off as took my breath away a bit, but could have been bad BH and got to a stage where I couldn't talk through them and I really had to concentrate on keeping my breathing regular.

Just as I decided that after another half hour of this I was going to call triage however, they stopped. Completely. Have been cramping in an irregular pattern since then but nothing drastic.

I'm not convinced they were just BH. But at the same point... They stopped...

So confused!! Advice?

Xx

Probably doesn't make too much difference. But over the last week I've been having very loose, frequent bowel movements. My appetite has increased slightly. Fatigue increased drastically, to a point that I physically couldn't keep myself awake no matter what I did and then suddenly over the last 2 days I've had a real energy boost! Can't sit still. Have been nesting a lot recently. And...

Whenever I go for a walk I "leak". It doesn't smell like wee/have any characteristics of discharge (that I'm used to at least). I thought maybe waters, but within an hour of getting home after a walk the massive leak (which leaves me feeling very soggy and ick) goes down to next to nothing. So I don't know :/ xx

Sounds like the start of something have a quick dip in the bath, a glass of water then get to bed and hopefully will be woken in the night x

Had a bath, just about to dry my hair then head to bed. Still cramping quite a lot, but they're bearable xx

When I was in early labour my contractions never got closer than 6 minutes apart but they were consistently painful and I couldn't sleep with them. They were so painful all I could do was literally keel over with them. This went on for 36 hours

I would say make sure you eat and drink though! I lost my appetite and by the time we went in I was 5cm but my ketones were so low due to lack of food and sleep that my contractions still hadn't got beyond every 6 minutes. Once I had a cuppa and some toast in the hospital (plus some energy sweets) my contractions immediately went to every few minutes!

xxxxxxxx

I had this in the run up to my labour with my first. I had a few days of stop start contractions then after 3 days my waters went and it was all over 6 hours later! I don't reckon you're far off now... :)

Thanks girls. Nothing happened over night apart from me waking up laying on my belly  and having a p***ed off baby kicked the s*** out of me for half hour lol. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens today xx

I had this twice and still went overdue I'm afraid! Was convinced it was the real thing and did indeed feel like the first day of labour it turned out. Don't know what caused it, but I assume I was overdoing the walking about! Lasted for a good few hours too. Strange!
