Well ladies I'm in the bath, trying to soothe the 'contractions' I've been having most of the day now.

It started when I was out shopping this afternoon, by myself, and I started getting some strong braxton hicks. I didn't think much of it, and put it down to the raspberry leaf tea I had last night (supposedly it can make bh more intense, but I assume that doesn't happen til you've been at it for a while! )

They started getting more sore, and really had to slow down my walking but they weren't bad enough to consider them contractions in my opinion. I'd describe them as very uncomfortable tightenings. So I came home and put my feet up (as you're advised to do if it's bh rather than labour) but they still didn't ease off. Still weren't overly painful or anything although I did get a few sharp twinges, but we went to the cinema anyway I wasn't overly worried. During the film though I started getting low cramps too, which I've never had with bh so I started to think hmm this might actually be early labour

So we phoned triage on the way out the cinema and she said take a bath and two paracetamol and see if they die off. So here I am in the bath, still getting period pain type cramping and still getting tightenings although I don't think they are as regular.

The triage mw knew I was only 34 weeks and didn't seem too panicked, so in remaining very calm about the whole thing. Bubs is wriggling away and I've not had a show or waters or anything. It all seems fine for now. If I'm still cramping I've to go in but well just see how it goes.

Cross your fingers baby keeps cooking! Xx

Hope all stays put a little longer!
You sound calm and on the ball guessing can just wait and see xx

Tightenings seem to last quite a while, so I'm quite confident its not contractions. Still getting twinges but triage mw said I should just try get some sleep. She's obviously not worried!

Night night everyone! Xx

Fx baby stays cooking a while longer yet hon :)

Well, had a nice long lie in (nearly 11am I got up!!) and sat for a while to see if there were any tightenings or cramps and so far so good. I went out to get hubby some lunch and had one tight bump incident but that's it. No pain or cramping, and a very wriggly LO. Feeling quite content today that it was a false alarm and just my body giving me a practice sesh.

I'm assuming this doesn't mean I'm any more likely to go into labour early, as obviously our bodies will start preparing well in advance right? I think the cramping was possibly baby engaging, does this sound right? Head is low today and seems to be staying in that position whereas normally we'd have had somersaults like twice by now.

I don't know how I managed to stay calm the whole time yesterday, that was 9 hours of possible contractions and I didn't freak out once!! Obviously when the real thing comes I'll be in a hundred times more pain, but at least I know I'll not panic!! I really do think these relaxation classes have totally paid off, I'm so calm about the whole thing.

I still have a feeling I'm going to go early, but let's just hope it's not gonna be *this* early :)

Thanks for your thoughts ladies, you're all wonderful!! xx

Glad your feeling better in yourself today, with LO wriggling around so much she must be happy in there! Get loads of rest and pop your feet up with a good book xxxx
