Well ladies I'm in the bath, trying to soothe the 'contractions' I've been having most of the day now.
It started when I was out shopping this afternoon, by myself, and I started getting some strong braxton hicks. I didn't think much of it, and put it down to the raspberry leaf tea I had last night (supposedly it can make bh more intense, but I assume that doesn't happen til you've been at it for a while! )
They started getting more sore, and really had to slow down my walking but they weren't bad enough to consider them contractions in my opinion. I'd describe them as very uncomfortable tightenings. So I came home and put my feet up (as you're advised to do if it's bh rather than labour) but they still didn't ease off. Still weren't overly painful or anything although I did get a few sharp twinges, but we went to the cinema anyway I wasn't overly worried. During the film though I started getting low cramps too, which I've never had with bh so I started to think hmm this might actually be early labour
So we phoned triage on the way out the cinema and she said take a bath and two paracetamol and see if they die off. So here I am in the bath, still getting period pain type cramping and still getting tightenings although I don't think they are as regular.
The triage mw knew I was only 34 weeks and didn't seem too panicked, so in remaining very calm about the whole thing. Bubs is wriggling away and I've not had a show or waters or anything. It all seems fine for now. If I'm still cramping I've to go in but well just see how it goes.
Cross your fingers baby keeps cooking! Xx
