So since about 4/5 I've been infrequently contracting. I have had some discomfort and pain and some back ache but I don't know really what's going on? I'm hoping it's "false labour" but when do I realise it's not? I suppose the pain gets worse? Just wondering because I've only ever experienced force labour and not natural. Im weeing a lot too? Does you plug have to go to experince contractions x

Can't help sadly but didn't want to read and run - could you phone midwife/hospital for advice? Any chance they could be braxton hicks? (I've not had any so wouldn't know the difference!) x

I think your plug comes away on the approach to labour or during, but you may not see it so wouldnt think too much about that. It can lol like diacharge over several weeks. Sounds like something is going on, I would give your hospital a ring. I'm sure they would be happy to see you and check you over. Could be baby engaging a little further causing pains. x

Morning all, ive got a midwife appointment at 4.30 and she will do an internal examination. I am still rather crampy but trying to remain optimistic. I'll get a few things done today and perhaps try to do an online shop this time because I think I've been over doing it. Been feeling rather sick too so could do with a break x

Hello I have been feeling the exact same for the past 24 hours. Iv been having contractions every 5 mins and lasting 30 to 40 seconds that are more uncomfortable than painful but they were enought to keep me awake all night x had loads of discharge this morning and the contractions are still coming but they are just not changing! Iv got loads of back ache and loads of pressure in the pelvis with each contraction. I hope they either go away or get stronger!

Good luck with mw appointment hun xx rest as much as you can xx

My plug only started to come away during contractions with my last labour hun. I was contracting irregularly for 24 hours on and off until they kicked in properly hun. Ive also experienced false labour. They both felt similar but with the real thing my contractions were more painful and a bath didn't stop it hun. Xxx

So I have just spoken to the consultant midwife who arranges induction. I'm going to see her today at 4 in the clinic. I've still been quie crampy but been drinking lots of water. I feel like I've had an increase in mucus come away but I'm just hoping she gives me the all good to go ahead for the induction. I completely appreciate she has to make sure I'm mentally prepared and physically but obviously the closer I get to the due date, the more anxious I get. I would just love for her to do the examination and tell me I'm already effacing and dilating. I will post later. X

Good luck hun. I'll been keeping an eye for an update xx

your plug can start to come away weeks before you are due - completley normal :)

Emapot - we were on the testing thread together way back when! I was so pleased to stumble across your post! good luck, I wish you all the very best and hope you have had some answers by now. :) x
