Oh dear god! I can see that its a beautiful image and all of that, but really... wow. That is not what I thought I was in for. Glad I've already had my lunch or that would have put me off!

usually the placenta comes pretty quickly within an hour or less

yes minewas there in ten mins too, that is totally normal. as soon as the baby is out the uterus (usually) only needs a few more contractins to get the placenta out

I have to say I really don't mind these images. I'm assuming her or her oh are photographers and she had a home birth. I'm also assuming she didn't have the the injection to entice the placenta out so it could have taken up to 2 hours to come out.

I actually like the first image but I think it would have been nicer for her to be sat down. It seems a bit odd with her standing but I guess it's their way of showing the connection between mother and baby.

I also wouldn't say my having the cord clamped is a hippy thing. There's lot of iron in the cord from the left over blood and it's still transferring to the baby even after its born. Lots of people wait until the cord stops pulsing before the cord is cut

I usually like unusual art and usually into like the naked bump photos on vanity etc but that is just gross. I will be making sure my tan hair and makeup is done before my photos and I dont care if that sounds like I love myself, I just think people are gonna see these pics and I have major confidence issues so I would make sure I was looking my best for the photos and I had said to my partner no one will be up until I am satisfied lolol. But I mean no offence to people who like to have the au neutral pics done nothing helps bring a memory back than a pic when your sweaty, covered in blood and knackered lolol
