leland just has his treatment changed as im struggling to get it under control and im just wondering those on here with babes with excema whats your doc got them on ? and has anyone thought about goats milk ? apprently i had excema as a babe and mums hv put me on goats milk ! my doc wants to try the new stuff first

so he was on ( and will go back to when under control)
oilatum plus for bath
fucidin h cream (mild steroid)
hydrocortisone (moderate steriod cream for bad patches)
eperderm 4 times a day ( horrid goose fat stuff)

his now on
oilatum plus for bath still
doublebase 4 times a day
daktarin antifungal twice a day
dermovate ointment ( clobetasol propinate) strong steriod twice a day

lelands excema is head to toe by the way even on his scalp , only place it doesnt really appear are on his hands and feet :(

caitlyn has epaderm, at every nappy change and oilatum in her bath, we were told to bath her every night.

she has fucidin h or hydrocortisone for the bad parts.

Hayden has XMA, something I was hoping to avoid but obviously not :(

they have only given him:
Anti biotics for a skin infection
Fuciden cream
Olatum

Luckily it is only very very bad on his arms...

I feel for you GEM how is his personality due to it? I have found Hayden very fidgety and sometimes quite moody poor mites...

Esme has 2x baths with oilatum per day am/pm

Diprobase after each bath and 2xmore per day prescribed but extra if she is really trying to rub her head

and she has just gone on a course of steriod (hydrocortisone) cream for 2 weeks too

just cant beleive its got so bad that his now on a potent steriod cream

Jacob has eczema too :(

We have used E45, Aqueous cream, Doublebase, Epaderm, Oilatum bath oil, Balneam bath oil, Hydrocortisone cream and Canestan cream :wall: The Doublebase and Oilatum worked well for a good few months but suddenly his skin got used to it and it stopped working  So now we are on Aveeno bath oil and Neutrogena dermatalogical cream, which fingers crossed seems to be helping!

Jacob has it everywhere too but mainly on his back, arms and the back of his knees. I hope it just baby eczema and he grows out of it  Out poor babies!

My hubby suffered badly with excema as a baby & it was put on goats milk then soy milk, it really helped his mum said. Might be worth a shot Gem even if its just to try it and see if it improves. xx

Didnt someone say on here before about the bodyshops hemp cream?? Rubes only has dry patches that this has cleared up (steroid cream didnt)
its about £12 for a tub tho :(
I was talking to the lady in the body shop and she told me that this stuff sells so quickly due to mums buying it by the basketload :D Must be some truth in it?

omg the change in lelands back and ive just used the anti fungal cream is amazing !!! might even post before and after pics tomorrow ! so pleased so far !

 Yup. it was me who said about the body shop hemp body butter!
it is a wonder cream! the whole of my OH family suffer with excema, and they use this and it cleared it up. my sister has sorousis (sp) and i recomended it to her and its worked amazing on her! its £12.50 but goes along way. honestly its well worth the money! dosent smell great, but its one of those smells that you either love or hate!
honestly cant big this up enough!

Hi hun!

Sorry your LO is suffering from eczema.

(Sorry, going to sleep in a minute so had to repost my post from another thread ages ago)

What happened to us, was that Daniel had a TERRIBLE eczema. All around his face and arms. My GP was treating it unsuccesfully for 3 months! Starting with Hydrocortizone and anding up with antibiotics. My mum was telling me all along, that the only way to control eczema this bad is the right diet. And, of course being stubborn I didnt listen much (that is why I am feeling like a complete fool now).

Anyways, we got an appointment with a really good skincare specialist. What she advised was diet, diet, diet. Basically, it is easier to tell what Daniel could eat in the beginning then what he couldnt.

Meats: ONLY turkey and lean pork (all other meats my cause skin allergies, eczema is in the list)

Vegetables-potatoes, cauliflower

Fruits-rhubarb (dont know if its a fruit...)

Porridge-rice.

Drink-diluted prune juice.

Formula-hypoallergenic or soya one

Everything else is not allowed!!!!

That was it what we could give Daniel in the beginning. I thought - OMG, he is gonna starve and etc. But, after a few days he got used to this (we did have to add some formula or boiled prunes to make his food tastier. Also to make a puree we used stock from boiled meat)

Also for the few days we had to use a mild steroid cream to clear up the skin.

An, guess what-EVERYTHING cleared up in 3!!!! days. 3 day! When my baby was suffering from eczema for ages!

What you do, you give the basic list of allowed foods for 2 weeks to wait for skin to clear up. Then you stop using the cream, and every new week you try one new food. (Like, lets say broccoli) So, you add to basic list I gave you broccoli. Do it for the couple of days and see the reaction. If eczema appear-stop using broccoli. If everyhting ok, after a few days add new food (lets say apples) and see how it goes. If eczema appears-stop. Wait for the few days and try new food. And then so on and so on.

We have been doing this for the last 6 or 7 months, and discovered that Daniel has reaction to carrots, tomatoes, wheat and some other stuff He is developing fine, eating-fine, putting weight-great.

I hope this will help you

Good luck, and if you need more info about what we are doing - just pm me

Oh, and another thing: all the creams are good but they sort of mask the problem but not clear it up ( what I mean, even if the eczema on the skin is cleared up you dont know what is going on inside). So they are good only short term.
